I want my Mark V!

I spoke with the Hollywood store a few days ago and put down a deposit. They said they've had a few cancellations, so I got lucky and am in the first batch of their combo allocation. (I hope he wasn't BS'n me) We'll see as word travels fast and BS travels faster! He mentioned to me that Mesa's holding up the delivery a bit to make sure everything was perfect. Not sure how to read that? Is there some issue they are fixing before delivery? hmmmm.

The Mesa guru at the local L&M (where mine's on order...) was told that shortly after one of the NAMM demo units was delivered to a customer, "It broke" ... no further details are forthcoming, but I'm assuming that improving the the reliability of whatever subsystem "broke" is the reason for the production delays. :wink:

Well, if thats true, at least they caught it before shipping out dozens of units, which of course is a good thing. It would have been pretty bad for Mesa and everyone else had a bunch of potentially faulty amps hit the market...especially after all of the anticipation & this long wait. Hopefully they,ll be able to get it sussed out quickly, and get to shipping.

Yeah, it looks like it doesnt it? It needed it. That rabies is an awful, terrible disease...You know, foaming at the mouth, spewing a bunch of nonsense, and then going crazy and all.

Anyone have any new "news" for this week when to expect shipping?
I,m still hearing one parts april, one parts may, one parts june or beyond.

Yeah, it,s looking like another month or so. Probelms, probelms!

But they,re doing this absolutely the right way as any good company should. Better delay then send out a defective product to have to be recalled down the way.

Yep that's the new word. But from the way they've been talking to me it seems Mesa Hollywood is getting the heads and combos in a single shipment. Other people have mentioned combos shipping out earlier though. I'm really surprised there wasn't any My Mark V Arrived Today! April fools threads.

Well let's all keep our fingers crossed that this is the last delay!

Usually, april is one of my favorite months of the year... it,s springtime, my birthday is this month, as are several family members. This year though, I can hardly wait for it to be over! Kinda silly I know, but the wait is killing me... Mesa techs, get those circuit boards soldered in,...PLEASE!

Two people complimented my tone today saying that my Mark IV is the best amp they've ever heard... I'm just thinking... wait til you hear the Mark V. :twisted:

Man guys, the Electradyne has now hit the stores. However, a friend of mine was told, that it will still be 6-8 weeks from TODAY that the Marks will be shipped!

I know they are two different amps and all, but WTF?!
I have,nt called to confirm this "latest" "info" though, cause I,m sick of bugging those guys about all of this conflicting information...wow.

Could be longer than that. Today I was at the GC I had ordered (my now cancelled) Mark V..and just out of curiosity I asked if the Mark V I ordered was still coming. My salesperson, again called the Mesa Sales Rep...and his response was that they are now building Electradynes and that some problems with parts for the Mark V is delaying production about 3 weeks.

3 Weeks folks! They haven't even begun building the first batch of Mark Vs. So Assuming they get all their parts and begin building in 3 weeks...then figure on another 6 to 8 weeks of production, then you're looking at 9 to 11 weeks before the first batch of Mark Vs begin to ship (assuming) no other snags.

I've since re-bonded with my Mark IV and have deflated all G.A.S. I had for the V. I took my cash and purchased another Lonestar Special (2nd time around). My PRSi seem to love that amp.

Ump, ump, ump...**** is all I can think of to say to that. And this is getting ridiculous now. If that,s true, I believe that even the most diehard of guys waiting for this amp may start to fall away and cancel...I,m starting to really consider it...silly is actually what it,s starting to become now. In aminute, folks waiting for this amp are going to start looking rather foolish...I don,t want to be one of them. My local music shop is sitting on 1k of my money during all of this, and the wife is getting antsy!

edit: And hold up, hold up...another thing, I almost forgot this. What happened to, "we won,t be making anything but Mark 5,s to keep up with all of the pre-orders? Come on now!

I really hope this isn't true. If I'm looking at a minimum of nine weeks before this thing ships out barring any delays, well, I don't really know. I'm being as patient as I can but this is really getting to be ridiculous. I have been waiting two months already, and I'm getting less and less comfortable with having $2000 tied up in something that continues to be delayed again and again and again.

It does seem to be a sub-contractor that is holding things up, so we can't blame Mesa if thats the case. All will be forgiven if the Mark V sounds as good as I think it will.

I posted in the Hollywood thread where someone had demoed a V in the store there and they told him amps might show up this week. We are now at the end of the week, so I wonder...did they come in? Ah, good times.

I was going to cancel my order, but naw, I figure it'll be worth waiting for. Besides, it will be my xmas gift to myself as I'm shooting for xmas delivery.

Bottomline, buisiness first, and Mesa is never going to tell us the actual truth, because we don't want to hear it. Mesa is going to do what makes mesa-sense and that's it. We just need to wait. I want my Mark V too **** it! I ordered my Timmy pedal and he told me july, for an OD pedal!-if anything, I'm learning to be patient. Plus, I chew on some glass to calm my nerves when I think about tweeking knobs on my new amp.
