Well so are the Electradyne, the M9, the AC4 and the Night train...We'll probably start reading about Mark V New Amp Days next week

well hurry up and get your recording gear ready! I'd really love to hear 2xEL34 (pentode if possible) or 4xEL34 (simul) in Mark IIC+ mode.... Also interested in the clean channel modes for jazz modal/fusion and funk.

Even though I love the intensity and creativity of LOG, I always said that LOG has the goofy "raped daffy duck" tone on riffs (not chord progressions) on most the songs I've heard from them w/ Mark IV (Marshall leads sound great on new album!)

Metallica did not have that sound on MOP/AJFA/Black at all. May have used some Marshall-type EL34 amps for leads as well on Black, who knows...

2) not sure they'll sub in 4xEL34 as I'm guessing 4x6L6 is stock in Mark V

3) trying to avoid immediate, irreversible store/live GAS, ya know what I mean???

Called Mesa today about my friend's Mark IV and asked about Mark V heads also. They started shipping THIS WEEK. Heads are on the way!!!!!!!!
