almost every topic is a problem?

+1 Please post again with your experiences with your Lonestar/Stiletto + 2x12 Recto Cabs + etc. I am a huge Andy Timmons fan and find my own rig slowly evolving to an AT type rig. TIA, -Gary K

Moving up in the world gone from LSS to LSC!!!

I think the best solution is to have both a LSS and a LSC. :D

    LSC effects loop questions

I see ... :) Andy Timmons (via his switching system) chains 2 Electro-Harmonix analog delay pedals together in the effects loop of his LSC ... His live tone sounds pretty good! Just (another) thought ... Hope you get to where you want to be! -Gary K

    LSC effects loop questions

If you have a second amp, it would be possible to connect the LSC Slave Out to the Delay In, then the Delay Out to the second amp. The LSC is "dry", the second amp is "wet" with delay repeats. The LSC effects loop is left "analog" from pre to power amp (no A/D, D/A conversions). -Gary K

Fuse kept blowing at a gig.

While I was playing my LSC, a 6L6 power tube went bad, and caused the main fuse to blow. I put a different set of power tubes in, replaced the fuse, and LSC back to normal. -Gary K

    Special Vs Classic

Some of the reasons I got my LSC 1x12 are: 1) Was cream w/ black piping and grill cloth 2) Was not blue with silver grill cloth (standard colors of the day) 3) Was a 1x12 (lighter than a 2x12) 4) Was pre-owned, less $'s than a new one -Gary K

    Why is my 1x12 HUGE?

It is bulky, and heavy. And Mesa only put the one handle on top, which is really isn't enough. This beast should have the handles in the sides of the cab, too. You are not going to want to go up/down stairs etc. with it. I have one and I don't take it places because of the size and weight...

what exactly do these amps weigh

Do yourself and your back a favor. Try to go the seperate head/cab route. I have a 1x12 LSC combo, and I don't take it out much just because of the weight. If a "head shell" became available I would grab it, and convert my combo to a head/cab, just to be able to transport it more easily...

If you didn't play a Lonestar....

Besides the LSC, I have a Vox AC-15CC1 (with Wharfdale). I love that amp. I've got a Vox V212BN (2x12 ext. cab), and someday I plan to get a Vox AC-30CCH (head only) to sit on that cab. Just want you to know where I'm coming from, I really like the Vox tube amps. :) -Gary K

If you didn't play a Lonestar....

Since your already in the UK, why not a Vox AC-30 with Celestion Blues? Sweet. :) -Gary K

Running Lonestars (Classic, Special) in stereo

Hi creekhed, That's basically what I was doing in the pic above. The Slave Out of the LSC is going to a stereo delay pedal (Boss DD-6), and the L/R of the delay is each going to a Vox amp. People accomplish this other ways, for example, the L/R output of a stereo delay can go to a stereo...

Running Lonestars (Classic, Special) in stereo

Here is my "next phase" experimenting with LSC and stereo: Configured like this: LSC Slave Out ->Boss CE5 Chorus(left/right)->Boss DD6 Delay (left/right)->Vox AC15CC1 (left/right) guitar in I have to say it sounds good, and I wanted to try it at least once. But, in this configuration, it...

    LSC blowing 4A fuses help

Thank goodness, I replaced the fuse again with a new 4A slo-blo, and it works! I did pull the amp (chassis?) from the combo box, to take a look. Each of the four screen resistors measured about the same resistance, so it looked like those were all ok. Put it all back together, put in the new...

    LSC blowing 4A fuses help

Hi, any help appreciated! I was playing my 2005 (version 1) 1x12 50/100 LSC combo, both channels in 100w mode. Suddenly the volume level reduced, and the amp started sounding bad. I realized it might be a power tube going out. By the time I looked behind the amp to see if I could tell which...

Running Lonestars (Classic, Special) in stereo

I tried "Lonestar in Stereo" Stage 1, and found a few things out along the way. Stage 1 configuration: Output of the LS in to a delay pedal (in my case a Boss DD-6), output of the delay in to a seperate combo amp (Power Amp In connection). 1) When I tried to use the LS FX Out to drive the...

    LSC 2x12 - Original MC90's or Vintage 30's?

It is common to mix drivers. Say in a 2x12 cab, to have two different drivers. One mix (for example) is a alnico magnet driver, along with a ceramic magnet driver. I have all Mesa C90s because the LSC 1x12 combo amp and 1x12 cabs came with them. But often I think about swapping a V30 in one...

    LSC 2x12 - Original MC90's or Vintage 30's?

Since you would only have to change out one speaker, why not try the "mixed speaker" scenario first? I would make sure the different (C90/V30) speakers/drivers are phased correctly. That is, the voice coils/cones move in/out in unison. If they don't you will get frequency cancellations. If...

    Quick Lonestar Special Question -

That is correct. Nothing plugged into the loop, switch to "hard bypass", done. This takes out the loop, output, and solo controls, and one(?) 12AX7. So you are actually reducing the preamp tube count when doing this. You could call Mesa Support and ask them about this "screach", they...
