1997 Dual Rectifier with Schumacher transformers?

Thanks, fellas. I was reading this page: http://oxyde.clan.free.fr/dualrectifier.htm ...and it made it sound like not all came with Schumacher transformers. Also, it mentions how revision G (which I'm guessing mine has to be) should have 16/8/4 speaker jacks, yet mine has 8-16/8-16/4/4 jacks.

1997 Dual Rectifier with Schumacher transformers?

I have a Dual Rectifier that is serial number R-008822 and dated March 1997 inside. Looking from the back, the transformer on the left is labeled "EIA606" and the speaker outputs are 8-16, 8-16, 4, and 4. Doesn't that indicate it has a Schumacher transformer? Isn't that odd for a 1997? BTW...

    DR with DD-20 reverse effect

Yep, it's cool, though I normally find it best with clean sounds and a somewhat muted playing technique.

Holy schmoly....great clean tone from my 2 chan DR....

Actually this isn't a totally clean sound, but more of a slightly gritty clean, but it sounds great.

    6v6 tube swap in markIV

I totally get what you are saying, but from a technical standpoint, you *never* have to rebias if you buy tubes to Mesa spec. From a *tonal* standpoint, it might be a good idea, but that's subjective as ursinus just pointed out. Also, will your rebiasing method void a warranty?

    6v6 tube swap in markIV

Buying tubes that are to Mesa spec are like buying spark plugs that are already gapped to the proper spec (to use your analogy). Whether adding a bias pot or whatever other bias adjustment method is a good idea is open for debate (and another topic), but from what I understand if you buy...

    Gojira and Recto?

I don't spend over $25 on CDs very often, but did for Gorjia (Terra Incognita). Those guys are killer!

another pre 500 on ebay. black diamond plate/chrome chassis

Wow, that's crazy. It may not actually sell, though, because the winner is a "zero". However, the second highest bidder seems to have a decent Ebay record and he bid $2,507!!!

    Rectos aren't tight? bullshit

Gojira are awesome. I just paid over $25 for Terra Incognita on CD. I don't pay that kinda dough for CDs very often, but it was worth it. It's very refreshing to listen to a death metal influenced band who doesn't have grotesque gore lyrics.

Why An Effects Loop Mod To Serial Needed???

If you have level problems, try one of these: I'm not using one with my DR, but am successfully using one with several pedals in the serial loop of my Randall RM50B.

    Dual Rec and 7581's

Haven't tried them in a Dual Rec, but I have used them in another amp (Vibrolux clone) and I much prefer Winged C's. The 7581's had a thin sound compared to the WC's. As always, YMMV.

Should I sell my Dual Recto 3ch and get a Randall MTS RM100?

Dual channel modules with the MOD100. Also, Egnater hand-built quality. Plus, you are comparing the fully loaded MOD100 price to an unloaded RM100. With the dual channel modules running about $400 each, the MOD100 is more around $1,800 just for the head. But that is still quite a bit more $$...

    Randall MTS

I thought the Treadplate was just a new name for the same module? I don't own a Grail module, but it's reported to sound the most Recto-like of all the modules.

    Stiletto Owners - Best Tubes?

Because compared to the current Marshall stuff, a M/B is going to sound better (at least to a lot of ears), be more versatile, and be better built than a real deal Marshall.

Which sucks tone more, effects in front or fx loop?

I'm pretty much an all pedals guy and I've ran them in the loop of my 2 chan DR Solo for years, and the tone doesn't bother me a bit. I really can't tell much of any difference between having the loop on or off. I think it's all in how you set things up....and the pedals you use. I have true...
