I've tried a bunch and settled on the SED =C= EL34s. You will lose a tad bit of low end as the previous poster stated but you can always fix that with the EQ. I think it adds a nicer crunch, especially to R2.

Never tried the Blackouts but I have EMG707s (7 string emg85s basically) and they're ridiculous through the C+

Call Mesa for a quote, they raised the price recently. As far as 'is it worth it?' That's quite subjective and they sound very different. You should start by asking if you like your IIC as it is. What would you change? What are you expecting?
