Prefer the two channel amps including the mark series. I just like simplicity. Don't like have to get rocket science degree to operate a guitar amplifier.
Great amp. Never cared much for the dual rectros without the verb and tremolo, because I like that feature on fender amps. I knew a guy that chopped up his combo to make a head outta it, and he should have just left it alone and bypass the speakers and plug a 4x12 into it.
You sure it's even a B Model? All the B Models I've seen have efx loops in them. My mark 2A has the slave out and line on it. It doesn't have the loop. I put a factory reverb on it. I can't even guess what yours is worth. But bet if you didn't add that loop to it, and added a reverb it uld be...
Ok my 2 cents. Backi in 1983 my drummer kept telling me to buy a mesa boogie. Finally got to hear one when we played a gig with 3rf stage alert. It was a regular 2c. Well I couldn't afford the $1300 for a new one, so I found a used one in Howie Hubberman's store in Hollywood.
The animal I...
Get 2 2x12 Orange cabinet then. They are 28 kilos each vs the 4x12 which is 50 kilos.
I agree with Pathos. The Orange cabinets are the best. I have 2 4x12s plus 2 Mitchell 4x12s. Though I think the Oranges sound better with my Marshalls, than my Boogies.
Sounds like you had an engineer that knew what he was doing. It sounds thick. When I did a recording back in 2005 they put my MK2C+ in a a iso booth. The thing sounded great in the booth but through the monitors it sounded thin. God I wish they still used tape to record instead of digital.
My first Boogie was a MK1, that I bought in 1983. It was muddy as hell on the bottom end when rocking out. I added a 6 band DoD EQ that they don't make anymore. That solved the problem. Your best bet would to buy the 6 band, to boost your mids. The 6 band MXR EQ is much better than the 10 band...
Well I didn't shoot the video. This video was an excerpt from DD Drum, video which is owned by the same guy who owns Dean. And to many of the detractors, quite a few have said there is a guitar in that box.
Answer to first question. What planet is that guy from?
Answer to second question It depends on what your ears like. Some guys like their amps without the extra horsepower.
Me I prefer the EQ models. Doesn't mean it's a better model, than the one without.
I have 2 Mitchell 4x12 cabs. Don't ever use them with a Marshall head. They sound too hollow. But with a Boogie they kick ***. They were built in Rubidoux CA back in late 70s, early 80s.
Played a Krankenstein at a Dean Owners of America get together. The thing sounded like ****.Couldn't get a decent sound out of it, even with a USA Dean.
