I like the design, but.........with the big chunk of wood missing from it, it would certainly be thinner sounding than a regular explorer.

This is yet another feeble attempt by the leadership (LOL) at Gibson to be original (rip off). This guitar belongs in their lame NAMM show display they shared with Monster Cable. Why don't they just sell the company to Peavy for the debt they've incurred under the current failed leadership? I'm not sure they can recover from the thorough besmirching of the once solid Gibson name.
