    Line 6 M9

Anyone out there use the Line 6 M9? I picked one up the other day at GC to try out and so far I'm quite impressed. Delays, Reverbs, Choruses, Phasers, and Flangers are all really good. The distortions are better than I expected. Many of the models are quite close to the real deal. I still...

    Mark IVa Circuit Questions

For those who might know, what function is associated with the 750pf capacitors at the top of the tone stacks? I know that it will shift the EQ "notch" over and effectively allow more mids through, but which function uses this cap: presence shift, pull fat, etc? There's one on both tone...

    Mark Series Combo Cabinet

Hey all, What chasis will fit in a Mark series combo cabinet? I'm selling my MKIV compact combo cabinet on ebay and got a question if a DC-5 chasis will fit. I know the Mark II, III, and IV short chasis are all the same, but I wasn't sure about the Mark I or any of the DC or subway amps. Let...

Custom Mark Series Compact Combo Cabinet on Ebay

Hey all, After converting my Mark IV combo to a head. I'm selling the empty combo cabinet on ebay. It's in fantastic shape and has cream tolex and a wicker grille. It's also got the SUS-4 mounting and Track-Loc casters installed too. Check it out here...

    Head and Thieles Project

Hey all, Just thought I'd drop a couple of pics of my latest work in progress. I building two thiele cabs and a head cab for my Mark IVa. My back is thanking me already for no longer having to lug that 90 lb little beast of a combo around anymore. With casters, it's not bad on flat ground...

    Thiele Questions

Hey All, I'm still thoroughly in love with my Mark IVa compact combo and decided to take it one step further. I plan to build a clone of the Boogie thiele cab and had a couple of questions. I don't want to spend the $400+ on a stock Boogie Thiele, and can build one for about half that. I've...

Mark IVa - The Honeymoon Continues

Hey Guys, I'm still in love with my "new" Mark IVa compact combo. This amp kicks so much ***, I can't believe it. I've had a few more chances take the amp out and really crank it up (LOUD!) in a band setting, and I have to say that the EV speaker has really grown on me. I suppose my initial...

WTB: Mark IVb short or medium head

Hey all, I'm looking for a Mark IVb short or medium head, preferably post Y2K but older is OK if its in good shape. Ebay is a little short on Mark IV heads right now. Anyone selling one?

    Mark IV B reverb switch

Hey all, I was just wondering about the switching jack for the reverb on the Mark IV B's. Is this a patch point for an internal relay or does the actual reverb signal go through the jack for grounding out, as it can be achieved on the A's? I've tried the schematics, but most of the ones I've...

WTT: Mark IV A Custom Combo for Mark IV Short Head

Hey All, I've got a beautiful '91 Mark IV A Compact Combo in creme/wicker grille with the 200 watt EV speaker. It looks fantastic, works perfectly, and sounds amazing. I love the amp, but not the EV or open back combo cab. Just not my style. I like the amp much more through a closed back...

    JJ's or Mesa tubes.

Hey all, I need to fully retube my Mark IVa combo. I've heard a lot of really great things about the JJ's from Eurotubes, but have never tried JJ's before. The Eurotubes standard 6L6 Mark IV full retube kit is about $50 cheaper than a full set of Mesa tubes, so this is VERY tempting. I just...

    Mark IV A from 1996????

Does anyone know the dates of production and the serial number ranges for the Mark IV A's and B's. I've found a used Mark IV A combo here locally that the seller claims was made in 1996. That seems a bit late to me for a IV-A. I though the A's were only made for a few years, something like...

Mark II A, B, or C, how can you tell?

Hey all, I found a used Mark II combo at a local Guitar Center. None of the clerks new if it was an A, B, or C (no surpize there... I almost always know more about their products than those guys do). There was no "+" by the power chord, so I know its not a IIc+. Like a dummy, I didn't think...

    Can you bridge a 2:50?

Is it possible to bridge the two channels of a 2:50 into a 100 watt mono amp? Bridging channels is common with a lot of power amps, but I've never seen anything about it for any of the Mesa tube power amps. Is this a no no for tube power amps? Just wondering.

    Edwards (ESP) Les Paul Clone

Hey all, I recently picked up an Edwards E-LP-90LTS Les Paul clone from Japan. Edwards is made by ESP. It is a really fantastic guitar. It cost me just under $700 bucks shipped from Japan, and the build quality is superb. They use good quality, solid tone woods and hardware and stock USA...

Triaxis & 2:90 VS. Mark IV

For anyone who has owned or played both: how close are the various modes on the Triaxis (with a 2:90) to the sound of an actual Mark IV. I used to have a Triaxis/2:90 rig before my Rectoverb combo, and lately I've been missing the tones of the Triaxis & 2:90. I've grown away from the more...

Mark IV Classic Rock & Blues Clips????

I'm still looking for some good clips or videos that show what the Mark IV can do in terms of low and medium gain sounds. Nearly all of the clips I find are heavy rhythm and lead sounds. While great, I do believe this amp will do a lot more than heavy sounds. Some of my favorite sounds on my...

    Mark IV Tone Questions

Greetings all, New member here. I had a couple of questions about the Mark IV. I currently have a Rectoverb series II combo, which is a very nice and versitile amp, but I have grown away from its more modern sound. I ended up liking the clean channel more than the gain channel, but that...
