+1 Those EH tubes are probably Sovteks and they DO NOT handle cathode follower stages well at all. Best avoid putting Russian tube in V3 (the second triode is a cathode follower).

My bandmate has a Roadster with Port City 4x12. He has some pretty amazing tone frome that setup. Nice and full with no woof sounds but it still has plenty of chunk.

Check your FX loop tube. Sometimes a weak tube can cause these types of problems.

I just found some beat standard cabs on CL and used SVT ampeg grillcloth to replace the mesa stuff. I did it for th Tremoverb as well. It wasn't that bad, you just have to be patient when putting the new grill on.

I retubed mine with groove tube russians and it was like breathing new life into it. I've also used JJ gold pin tubes in the past with good results. The JJs are a little darker though. Good to see someone else from NC on here.

On my Roadster the channel 1 light stays lit very dimly when i use the footswitch to switch to other channels. Is this normal or is it something I should have checked out? Thanks in advance

50 watts is actually the RMS power of the amp. Most 50 watt RMS amps can produce more than that when pushed into power amp clipping. Typically, a 50 watt amp can produce 100 watts peak (a surge in power). V30's handle 60 watts RMS each and about 120 peak. You're pretty safe running a 50 watt...
