    Matching levels between channels

I used to have this problem but somehow it fixed itself. It might be the fact that I started to run Mark IV mode again instead of Extreme. In any event, play with it. You'll figure it out.

The MARK V really is a collection of great amps!

Maybe you play different music or something, but for me and my band I need Mark IV mode to have more low end.

The MARK V really is a collection of great amps!

I have had mine for 6+ months now and the longer I own it, the more I realize that it really is a collection of great amps. I used to think that it was a Boogie clean with a couple of different variations, a Mark I with a couple of variations, and a Mark IV with a couple of variations. That is...

Anyone use Port City cabs with your Mark V?

Are the Port City 2x12's less directional than a standard closed back? Are they tight enough for percussive metal? How do the Oversized and Regular 2x12's compare?

Master Volume Control "on" or FULL Blast!" Please advise..

I dont have a problem with this at all. The Output can be touchy but I dont think it's all or nothing.

Road King 2 VS Mark V

Both are great amps. It depends on you if you want the Recto gain or the Mark gain. They DO have different cleans. The Roadking has Lonestar cleans and the Mark does not.

Going back to the Mark V

I wouldn't run my Mark V through a single V30. I'm not even totally comfortable when I run my V30 loaded 2x12 real hard.

John Petrucci talks and demos the Mark V (settings)

Why? Are they easy to set up in comparison? I have a Mark V and I set it and forget it.

John Petrucci talks and demos the Mark V (settings)

I'm not one to give people a hard time over wording but how does a Jazz III not provide enough "attack"? Wouldn't that pick provide the most attack???

    Roadster vs. NEW Dual Recto...

I was about to pull the trigger on a Roadster when the new Dual Rectifier came out. The new Dual Recto has much better cleans than the old and to my ear has better high gain riffing than the Roadster. Unfortunately I cannot play both in my own band setting so I would be taking a leap of faith...

EMG's with the Mark V (yay or nay?)/Other pickup suggestions

I think you misunderstand why people DON'T like gloss necks. Satin and unfinished necks are much smoother to play and they dont bind up like gloss necks. I am one of the guys who DON'T like gloss necks. So I was wondering if the gloss they use is smooth like a satin neck.

    1 Year old Mark V

If you dont play it loud then you definately haven't experienced all the amp has to offer. It is pretty amazing with the output close to noon.

    Random Mark V chat...

I want the 10watt or 45watt setting to work for me on the CH1, but it does not. I need the open, full sound of 90 watts. The tube rectified 10/45 watt settings are supposed to sound more "vintage" or "saggy" or something but I just hear less balls and less volume.

EMG's with the Mark V (yay or nay?)/Other pickup suggestions

I am looking at that same guitar but I am hesitant because of 2 things... 1. No arm contour. Does it have a sharp edge like a Les Paul??? That is a deal breaker for me. 2. Gloss neck. Does it bind up or play smooth? Any other input on the guitar would be great!

My New Band Is LOUD and this Mark V...

Yeah, I was quite pleased after that hour of hard pounding (Mark V on almost full with lots of chunky chording). a) It wasnt new new. I had used that cab for a few jams already. b) I never said it was completely broken in, just noticably nicer sounding. Of course rather than defending...

Any of you Mark V owners have a CARVIN Guitar?

I pulled the trigger on a DC127 with the C22B and C22J. I play mostly Prog Metal and need that Bridge Pup to be hot enough to do some serious riffing. I hope I made the right choice.
