What's a good pedal to get my gain ala As I lay Dying?

New Roadster owner, I'm rockin the 2X12 combo and lovin everything about it. I only wish that channel 4 had a little more flare to it's gain. Tone is good but I'm just looking for more of an attack and snarling sustain. I hear tubescreamers work well as long as Eqs. Anyone have any suggestions with what they use to get that upper edge?

maxon 0d808, ibanez ts 808, ibanez ts 9 or a cheap digitech bad monkey

also you can add the fulltone ocd, xotic bb preamp and carl martin boost kick. Basically anything that will allow you to boost the signal and shape the tone without adding much if any gain will do the trick. The idea is to get your preamp tubes more compressed which happens when you send a hotter signal into the amp. So its not so much your adding distortion with the unit as much as your boosting and shaping the signal before it hits the preamp.

The Maxon Od808 looks like a safe bet but hows the OOD-9? I hear true bypass really sets it apart but is there really much of a sound quality difference compared to the Od808? And which would you say has the superior metal tone?

the od9 steals a little bass and you get a little more saturation. it sounds very good but i prefer the maxon od 808

The Maxon Od808 sounds like a win then. Guitar Center should carry these I hope...

+1 on the OCD. Can't comment on the others except the tube screamer.

Sounds great as a clean boost on your clean channels if your looking for that slight bit of breakup as well.
