So I listend to the video and it seems to me, as if the EL34 add some clarity and definition, clean played a bit more Treble, in the vintage Ch.2 the differences are weak. But in modern Ch.Red it sounds less compressed and more... I would call it lively! I cannot tell more about the low end. For this I must play that Beast by my own. Like the Video though. Now I would like to test EL 34 in my 2 Ch Rectifier. Which one you use inside the Amp in the video?

hahaha, awesome!

Yeah... sure... But a 4x12 will be able to destroy more at the same time.

Okay... now for something serious... I read your posts about the 212 Rectifier Cab. Does anyone can tell me more about them? Especially the tonal differences compared to a 412?
I already own 412 cabs and I' m looking for a nice, but huge sounding cab for my 2 Channel Dual Recto.
Perhaps someone can show me a clip/comparison*

Thanks a lot... Volkair

The Rectifier 2x12 is my personal favorite. I own one and prefer it's tone over any of the other cabinets. It has a lot of bottom end, but it's not muddy. The highs are never brittle. Of course it won't project as much as a 4x12, but it still sounds good in the room... sounds even better mic'ed. If you have heard both the rectifier and stiletto 4x12, I would probably put the 2x12 in between them. Not as scooped sounding as the recto 4x12... not as middy as the stiletto 4x12. The 2x12 just has a 'sweetness' to it as well. I thoroughly recommend them!

Are you asking what kind of EL34's we used for the video? If so, we simply used the Mesa/Boogie STR447's!

As far as the low end... I would say the low end gets tighter with the EL34's... kind of like narrowing the Q a little on an EQ.

good video man.I'll be changing power tubes in the new year so it intresting.

I liked the 6l6 clean better but proabably give the egde to the EL34 for vintage and modern. raw was same for same
