Single rectifiers, why no rectifier tube???

Ah, ok. With this logic ’Single rectifier’ should be called just ’single’ or ’No rectifier’. I would say ’single’ because ’no rectifier’ implies that it runs on either battery or AC. This is propably why it was removed from the lineup, it just does not fit to the naming scheme. Sad really, single is better than people give it credit for.
Well actually they should have called the Triple Rectifier the Quadruple rectifier! And the Dual Rectifier the Triple rectifier.

Jeez, give it a rest. Are you going to go after Fender next, claiming that the "Deluxe Reverb" is not really "Deluxe"?

Never thought of that, but you’re absolutely right. Deluxe Reverb should not be called Deluxe, there’s nothing luxurious about it. Ordinary Reverb at best.

Single Rectos and ROV are some of my favorites. Tonal haven when boosted. Speaking as a Dual Rev. G owner.
Ok after many, many years of sitting on the sideline I will admit the Rect thing is giving me GAS now :ROFLMAO: It just may be a passing moment in time I dunno we'll see.

So in the Single Rect models are there any differences between the 50W Solo head (rev I/II), the ROV? Is it just the addition of Reverb? Anything else to share is appreciated.

The Triple is a misnomer, since it doesn't have 3 choices of rectification. The Single, however, has only one source of rectification, which is the diodes.
The Triple has 3 rectifier tubes, 6 power tubes, and 150W.
The Dual has 2 rectifier tubes, 4 power tubes, and 100W.
So one would logically assume that a Single has 1 rectifier tube, 2 power tubes, and 50W. 1 rectifier tube is needed for each 50W pair of 6L6. Like the Mark V 90W which can use the rectifier tube option on the 45W mode.
Must have been a way to cut corners and upsell the Dual. I hate when companies do this. I don't want a 50W amp because I want less features, I want 50W because I have zero need for 100W+. I really hate 20W amps because they're usually severely lacking in features compared to their 50-100W counterparts. And most new production amps can step down the wattage, anyway, so 20W or less amps are a total waste to me. 50-100W amps can be just as quiet when they need to be, and they sound so much better, even at low volume. With 20W amps, you often have to deal with shared EQ, lack of presence/resonance controls, 2 instead of 3 channels... I even had one that had no gain control for the clean channel! (Looking at you, Revv). It was impossible to get a clean clean tone with active pickups and I had to dial in the EQ every time I switched channels. Lack of resonance/presence left the amp too dark and bass-heavy.

Mesa is incorrect in labeling "rectifier amp" without a tube rectifier IMO.
Mesa's only "True" amp which should be called a Rectifier is the Dual and Triple.
The Rectifier Badlanders also only have diodes. I think they're still calling them "Rectifiers" because they have the same preamp circuit.

Is this STILL going on?

Here's something to muddy things more: Single rectifiers actually have TWO rectifiers. Dual Rectifiers have THREE.

Why? Because there is also a rectifier on the heater circuit so that V1 gets DC heater current to reduce noise.
