2007 Mark IV short head (bought new 07)

And I see a Roadster head in the future...

Short and sweet...it all started in 1987...

Studio .22 combo w/geq (so sad I let this one go)
50 Caliber+ head w/ road ready 2x12 cab (way too loud, but great set-up)

Both gone now. Currently playing:

DC-3 combo (the best amp I've ever owned)
Wood & wicker F-50 wide-body combo.

I'm still happy.

Cool rigs guys.

Dont matter if you have one or fifty.

Though I've owned a bunch of em I only own one now and its enuff.

Keep em coming. 8)

Let's see if I can remember them.

Back in 1983 I bought an SOB 1x12 combo in cream with a matching 1x12 cab.
Then:
DC-3 1x12 combo
MkIII head
Nomad 45 1x12 combo
Lonestar Special head

sold all of those and just have a MKIV head.

As for cabs:
I had a 2x12 vert. I bought new back in 1984. I sold it around 1992
I still have a 2x12 vert (2006)

Bass:
I have a 2005 Boogie head (300 watt, I forget the name)
1 - 2x10 bass cab
1 - 1x15 bass cab

I think that's everything, I can't recall.

I am, umm, feeling a bit inadequate here

Bought/sold lots of other non-mesa amps and gear. Played other Boogs, didn't care much for a couple of them. But the only Boog I owned and then sold was a Subway w/Presence.

I am Gear-Hiatus now. Currently the owner of a DC5 Combo and MKIII Simul head in green, I have "refined" them just the way I like them now with just the "right" tubes. Got a couple of 112 cabs, one of the an EV-Thiele. So satisfied am I that I feel like I have "arrived" ...at least for now. So I am focusing on playing and refining "my" tone/techinque. When other amps have made their way out the door, these two are my keepers for me.

...but I AM curious about the Blue Angel. Go ahead, someone, feed my curiousity. Whatcha thing of the BA? :D

Edward

First one back in the 90s was a Mark III head and a vertical 2x12 halfback. Celestion in open-back top, EV in closed-back bottom.

Upgraded to a Mark IV head with same cab.

Then a Tremoverb head with an old 70s Marshall 4x12.

Rectoverb combo when I got tired of hauling cabs at 2 a.m.

Back to a Mark III head and a 2x12 when I missed hauling cabs at 2 a.m.

Back to a Tremoverb and a 4x12 when mid-life crisis reared its head.

Back to a Mark III when I got a grasp on mid-life crisis.

This time, it's a C90-loaded combo atop a EV-loaded Thiele.

I'm such a goofball like that.

Edward you are sporting the combination I'd like to have.

Since I have a Mark III now I would also like to have a DC-5 combo.

Maybe even a Rectoverb Combo as well.

Like you I need to concenctrate more on my Playing/Writing/Recording than worrying about Gear.Though I am certainly a Gear Freak, I have considerably downsized the amount of Guitars and Amps just setting around my Studio mainly to get rid of of stuff I dont need (like the two 100 watt Marshall Stacks) one of which was sold to a forum member.

Though this thread is a Gear Thread sho nuff.

Keep em coming.

2 Mark lll simulclass EV combos, 1 Mark lll 60w eq & reverb combo, 1 Caliber 50 combo.
All great amps but none of the above Mark series comes close to the reverb on the Caliber 50.
My current Mk lll is the best amp I've ever owned, just wish the reverb was better.

I haven't seen the term MAS (Mesa Acquisition Syndrome) around here.

You really need start using it! :D :D

BTW, I have a Mark IIa, 60W with Eq and no reverb. It's been with me for less than a week... My first Boogie.

The reverb in my 24 year old MKIIC+ was sounding dead. I looked inside the reverb tank and saw that the foam pad, glued to the top of the tank as a cushion so that the springs don't bang against the metal, had rotted and pieces of it had stuck to the springs. I could have bought another tank for about $40.00 but I like doing whatever I feel I can do correctly by myself. I used 3M Adhesive Remover, which is a mild solvent (I am sure you could use lighter fluid) and an old, soft toothbrush to carefully remove the foam. I gently spread the springs apart and pushed the bristles between the windings and they eventually cleaned up. It took about an hour but there was a night and day difference in the reverb sound. There are also different preamp tubes that you can use on some Boogies and some reverb revisions that are available as well.
