dont use the ole dead horse smiley thing on me but.. i noticed some on here still use russian tubes in position 3 and 4.. here is the kicker. my roadster and 3 channel have never had problems with the volume fade issue but can not run a russian tube in my 96 2 channel for long until the problem appears..tunsol,EH lps all those have issues after a few days of heavy use, pop the chinese back in and problem is gone..im assuming the issue was fixed on the newer rectos since the problem dosent exsist on those.. i wish i could use the russian tubes cause the amp sounds 10 times better with them in there.. dougs tubes and others claim the 12ax7m will hold up in that position. any thought? the amp has been checked from top to bottom
and gig with it regular. with no issues except those tubes.

It really seems to depends on the amp. I had a recent Stiletto that wouldn't take Russian tubes in the Cathode follower position. My Roadster, on the other hand, has NO such problem.

Sorry I had to just based on the fact you mentioned it. You called to the Dead Horse.

Anyways, my 3 Channel Recto has a slight volume loss after playing at band volume for about an hour or two. I just changed the V3 to a Shuguang and will see what happens. So far, so good.
