    WTT '07 Mesa Roadster Head

I'm looking to trade my head for either a solo dual rectifier or triple rectifier in near mint condition. My amp doesn't have a scratch on it. I'm in Canada so shipping might be pricey so e-mail me for details.

    roadster tube dilemma

after doing more reading I'm starting to think I should do the pre-amps first and then see how I feel about my power amp section. I've started having trouble with the spongy mode fading and I read about how the cause is bad pre-amp tubes in the cathode follower positions. I was thinking about...

    roadster tube dilemma

I put in a few sovtek 12ax7-wb preamp tubes. I've read about JJ preamp tubes and it sounds like a lot of people don't like the way they make the amp sound. I've thought about ordering a preamp tube kit from dougs tubes but I'm trying to sort out my power tube section right now. Switching...

    roadster tube dilemma

The thing is I'm going for more of a "metal" sound so that's why I've taken interest in JJ 6l6's but I want my tubes to be as musical as the electro harmonix el34s I have in my head right now. I'm just trying to figure out what tube would be able to do that for me. And I have cut the bass back...

    roadster tube dilemma

So I've had my roadster head and 4x12 recto cab almost 2 years now and I love the thing to death. I currently have been playing with electro-harmonix el34-6ca7 tubes in it and I've been doing a comparison of sound between the el34s and the orignial mesa 6l6s. If I had to choose between the two...

    what is this guy smoking

I agree but its f8cking annoying when people dont do their research to price things correctly. I hate ignorant people and this guy fits the mold because he's either very stupid or he's trying to rip someone off... both of which dont agree with me. Thankfully my right to free speech gives me...

    New Roadster

The roadster definitely takes some time to dial in but once you get familiar with all the settings it will really grow on you!

Roadking HighGain vs Dual/Triple Rec and Roadster.....

Don't forget willie adler from Lamb Of God. The roadster rocks for versatility.

    Ok so What gives?

I think most of the problems you will find on here are "operator error" but just like everything in the world stuff breaks every now and again. I've only had one problem with my mesa knob breaking off and it got fixed in a hurry.

    Bias switch

I put EL34s in my roadster, flipped the bias switch and have been good since. DO IT

Predict the futurist amp sounds --come in and discuss

I think you're going to see a bigger advancement on amps like Road Kings. Modelling amps are the modern because it's one amp that can do so many different sounds but it is still unlike having that true tube amp sound. With amps like the Road King you are starting to get closer to having...

    Cutting Through with a DR

x2 not to mention with the eq you should be able to find exactly the sound you are looking for.

just got my mxr 10 band eq

Man I've been playing with my pedal since I started this thread now and it is just crazy awesome. I got my roadster head dialed with this thing and it just sounds amazing. I can't stop playing when I have this thing hooked up to my amp and I love how easy it is to make a little tweak and dial in...

I think I am sold on the Roadster

The roadster can be darker than a dual rec but I love having that 4th channel there as it's just different enough from the 3rd channel for tweaking in that extra heavy sound when you want it.

just got my mxr 10 band eq

Through the loop. From what I've read it gives you so much more control over the sound of the amp and I completely agree because it shapes the same after the amps preamp when the eq is placed in the loop. With the EQ placed in front of the amp all it can do is shape the sound of your guitar...
