I am really craving the Fender clean tone and am currently not able to dial it in with my Rectoverb. I'm talking about the blackface - Twin or Super Reverb clean tone. Lots of sparkle and twang. I'm not feeling it with the Rectoverb. Any suggestions? Do I need a new amp?

It's supposed to be a simple thing, however, I think the difficulty is the sweep range that is ideal for a wah is not ideal for volume swells for a volume pedal. The dunlop Mr. Crybaby is a classic example. The wah is just okay and the volume is even less useful. For a Tremonti wah, it's not...

I just bought a 70s Thomas Organ wah for about the price of a new Dunlop original crybaby. Best kept secret out there! I did 3 simple mods to it - the vocal, volume increase, and true bypass. It was already great as is and this puts it way over the top!

What kind of reverb are you after? If you want a complex "hall" type reverb I suggest you just get a rack processor instead of using an amp (or any amp) for that. I barely have the reverb on - just so it's past that "dry" tone - and have no problem with getting a lower setting.

For me it's boutique for overdrive and distortion. Boss for filters, modulation, and delay.

It depends, try both and see what you like. Eddie Van Halen put his in front of the amp.

I think I know what it is and I have the same problem with my Line 6 DL4. The parallel loop is "Line Level" +10db. It is a hotter signal than "instrument level" effects (-4db) such as the Boss DD-20 and the Line 6 DL4. Line level is what is used for more of the rack effect processors that you...

The issue with the setting the mix all the way, is that the max setting on the Recto is 90% parallel. In the manual it lists 100% and I really wish it were this.
