Too many tube options mark iv....

Thanks for the advice! Such a hard decision still. Would you say the el34 6l6 combo tightened up the bass in your rig? I'm sure anything will be an improvement over the groove tubes I have now though....

Too many tube options mark iv....

So I've been reading lots of posts on tube replacement here and have tons more knowledge now than a few days ago. But I'm still trying to narrow down the best option for me. So if anyone can give any input it will be greatly appreciated. Need to retube due to what I would call bleed into...

    Gmajor 2 levels help.

Well after some hard research i figured it out. I was running in pro mode with an input of I believe -10db switched to consumer and now I just have to readjust all the levels in my presets and I have all the room I need.

    Gmajor 2 levels help.

I'm running my gm2 with a mark iv. I find that I have to have the input and output knobs turned all the way up to match the levels without the loop engaged on user patches. Also when I create new patches even with the patch output set to 0db its noticeably quieter than the factory patches...

    Rack Gear Routing Question

I have considered the redundancy of the tuner and eq myself. I'll be honest the main reason for hooking them up was vanity...didn't like seeing an empty rack and they were just sittin around lol.

    Rack Gear Routing Question

So Im pretty new to the rack setup. I currently have Mark iva-Furman 31 bang graphic eq -Gmajor 2-korg dtr1000 tuner-Mark iv Right now i have them all hooked up in a chain in the loop. i find that if i engage the bypass on the EQ my volume dies and if you have the output gain just barely too...

Will the G major 2 switch relay damage a mark iv?

Hmmmm you may be right about the switch functions, and maybe that guy didnt use the FSwitch at all. But it seems like as long as you have the selector set to foot switch and are carefull not to activate more than one channel it might work...IDK though. Im not sure im willing to risk it. Thats...

    G Major 2 Relay question

Thanks that definatley does clear that up. Ive also heard that the relay on the g major works differently than the how the switches on the mark work and that using the gmajor relay can damage a mark iv. Any ideas on that? I have a thread in the Mark section about this so I apologize for multiple...

Will the G major 2 switch relay damage a mark iv?

yeah ultimatley i want to get a voodoo lab ground control and switcher. I ve been studying the web about it and really cant find too much. I did find somewhere where a guy put the jacks in rhy1 and rhy 2 and set the selector to footswitch mode because he claimes the mark iv defaults to lead. If...

Will the G major 2 switch relay damage a mark iv?

So i've been reading about the different types of relays. Supposedly the mark iv uses latching and the gmajor uses ...something, still reading. But ive read in a few places that using the y splitter on a stereo jack to switch the mark iv can damage it. Any truth to that? I just bought a gmajor 2...

    G Major 2 Relay question

Ive searched and cant find an explanation... I have a gmajor 2 and in the manual it states that the 2 relays can switch up to four channels... I just don't see how. one jack, one relay for tip and one for ring. each operates by grounding out the said relay. How on earth can it do more than...

Trade my mark iv for a triaxis?

Ive been looking around more and I think I have a solution that will make me very happy! The Gmajor 2 has an amp switching relay that can potentially control 3 channels on the mark iv(still looking into that one) even if it can only do two Im looking at the behringer(cringe) fcb1010 that has 2...

Trade my mark iv for a triaxis?

Trade my mark iv for a triaxis?

So here's my quandry...I want to add an effects processor to my rig but it is proving to be quite costly to get it done and have the capabilities I'm wanting. See as you all know the mark iv doesnt have midi channel switching and very few pedal controllers offer trs switching functions and the...

Tips for a more dynamic R2 MKIV?

You know iv'e had my mkIVa for almost 10 years. Only swapped the 6l6's once (OUCH I know I know) and just recently put in all new EH12ax7s. I never liked r2 either until the 12ax7 swap. Now....oh my! I love R2. I use it for TONS of stuff. I never put in the time necessary to dial it in until...

My mk IVa was made in 91' (I believe) and it is like yours. I tried to get a replacement M/B logo but they sent me the new modern one instead. You can see the weather strip on mine too. Phill
