Using Boss GT-8 with DR

Anyone have experience using the boss gt-8 with a 3ch DR using the 4 cable method? If so, what kind of results have you had with it. I'm only looking to use the effects, not the amp modeling. I have about a week left of my 30 days to return it to GC. If it works reasonably well, I'll keep it as I like using the amp models for headphone bedroom practice late at night, but if its too hard (or impossible) getting it to behave, I may be better off going with a Gmajor for effects.

I think the 4CM works only with series loops... I think the DR only has a parallel loop..... also, if you are going use ur GT8 only for effects, I don't think you need to use the 4CM. I think the beauty of the 4CM is to use the preamp of the GT8 bypassing the amps GT8(for example..by pass the DRs clean in lieu of the GT8's fender pre) in certain situations and recalling the amps preamp(DR's dirty channel) when needed....I guess another advantage of the GT8 is that you can put the preamp before/after certain effects..neways.. I don't think the 4CM will work as well with the dR's parallel loop

I wrote up my experience with setting up the GT-8 to work with my Roadster. You should be able to dig it up somewhere. You might experience some odd issues with delays and other time based effects with the parallel loop, but you won't really know how it will react until you try it.
