Hey there. Sorry for kinda blowing up the forum here! I just bought a tverb and am hoping to find a 4 button footswitch to match. I see that there are a few custom footswitch vendors online, some with terrible reviews (like taking six months to send an order). eBay also sells some, though they appear to be marked up from factory direct costs. Is there a recommended vendor for such a thing? Or perhaps I should just make my own?

switchdoctorswitches did an outstanding job with the Fender Super Champ (Rivera era) footswitch. I would check them out if you can't find anything on reverb.com or craigslist

I would love to make my own, just so I can customize it as you said. Only problem is I can't find any good sites or stores to buy an enclosure, and the 8 conductor wire. I went to Home Depot, for instance, and they had 8 conductor wire, but it was as rigid as a coax cable, which is no bueno. Any pointers?

I would look at amazon. I also would think you could buy a pedal with a good metal housing and just convert it. I did a quick google and this came up. Also check sweetwater as they may already have something you can buy ready to go.

That's some good info for sure, thanks for the link! Does anyone know if I could just use Cat5 for switching? It would be perfect for the job since it's got 8 conductors and the cord is cheap and not rigid.

Random reply here, but made my own pedal. Cat5 turned out to be perfect since I needed 8 conductor wire, and so far the gauge seems to work fine. I used a Cat5 jack on the back, and made a Cat5 adapter to four 1/4" jacks at the back of the amp. This makes it possible to use any ole Cat5 cable of any length to connect to the amp. Pretty sweet!

Great Job! I did something similar for my MIDI control switching.

If you gig (or otherwise teardown/ setup) often I recommend upgrading to the Neutrik locking connectors.

The cable connector is simply a shell that you add to just about any Ethernet cable.

The chassis jack comes in a bunch of different configurations, from pass through to punch down terminals.

I bought the punch down, but ended up soldering directly to the RJ45 pins. I gig a lot and didn't feel they were secure enough.

I wired my own years ago also. I used a midi style din socket on it and a regular five pin midi cable so if the cable ever broke or went missing it would be easy to replace. I also made a junction box that plugs into the back for the other end of the midi cable that lives on the amp. Last year I rehoused the switches into an octagon effect housing so I can activate all four switches with one foot stomp. At this time I also wired in a battery so I could have a dual colored led for the channel switch. It's green when on the orange channel and red on the red. This really helps me see the channel select switch it when it's on the floor of a dark club.
