Thinking about installing some Fender witch hat amp knobs ,just for personal preference...Are there any issues to be aware of before purchasing ? Any recommendations as to what part to obtain?
Thanks

My take, thoughts?

Do they stick out as far as the original? That is the issue I have with the controls on my Nomad. They stick out further than the controls on my Mark IV. I ended up keeping the Nomad in an area where I could not bump into it be accident.

They do a bit, yeah

I like the look of the chicken heads, each amp family has it’s own knobs which gives it the personality.
We define personality differently
I like it :)
Thank you. Me too. I love the oversized look of them. Definitely gives the amp a bit of PERSONALITY :)

Not sure what to think. I still feel there is something missing on the face of the Filmore. The California tweed sort of reminded me of the Royal Atlantic or the Electra Dyne in some ways.

I like those knobs on @Nerd 's Filmore. Adds something to the simple face plate design. Gives it a more vintage vibe to it.

From my post in February 2020...

I've got a new Fillmore 100 watt combo...The black 'chicken head' knobs against the black front panel were driving me crazy...I never liked them in the first place and found them impossible, for me, to see clearly where they were set, ok?

Solution:

StewMac part number: 50804 Vintage-style "Radio" Cupcake Amp Knob=WHITE...Fourteen(14) for $23.10, not including shipping/tax. Allen wrench 2mm to remove the originals and very small straight blade screwdriver to install the new ones, 10 minutes...done. Looks great, feels great.

I also hate the chicken head knobs on the Fillmore. Terrible off-axis viewing and almost no contrast between them and the face so extra hard to see in the dark. I find round knobs are a little quicker to grab, spin and land. I was never big on numbers for guitar or amp knobs when a single white or black dot shows you where the knob is and you inherently know what number it is. So much faster, for me, at least. I replaced the Fillmore knobs with these vintage Fender knobs and put a small piece white tape on all my guitar knobs. Chicken heads to me are classic "style over substance."
