My mountain of gear:

- Line6 AxSys 212, upgraded to AX2

- Peavey Ultra 112 w/Celestion Vintage 30 and Eurotube JJ's

Also shopping for Mark IV, which will hopefully convince me to sell a bunch of these!

Budda Dual Stage 30, Mesa Blue Angel, Marshall 1974X, and a Fender Champ 12. All combos. I see a Road King in my future. That's why I got rid of the (80's)Twin, the (78?)Bandmaster, and the (62)Bassman. Don't get mad at me, the Bassman died every couple years, and only cost me $100, and I got a free tubscreamer with it.

Apart from the Boogies,
Marshall TSL 212
Fender Performer 100
Peavey (not sure of the model) 15w 10" speaker

Hey James, I also have an Avatar open back 2x12 cab with the same speakers. It's a great cab that is very reasonably priced. No complaints on build quality or tone.

My only amp that I have right now is a professionally modified Laney VH100R. This thing is so thick it's nuts. You don't even have to try in order to get the 'brown sound'. The cleans on this are the best I've had on any amp. The highest gain/drive channel just doesn't cut it for me. In a mix with a band, it's plenty heavy, but for playing bymyself in a room, I want more saturation. It was my first tube amp and it's a damn good one at that. I was shocked to hear how clean, clear, and defined everything sounded through it.

I've had quite a few mods done to it, but of course not all of them were to influence or change the sound. One of them being a professional re-covering job in Mesa styele black taurus vinyl. I'd keep it, but I'm no longer in a band and it's WAY too powerful for just bedroom playing. I do use a THD Hotplate in conjunction with it and it sounds great, I just can't get the seering death metal distortion from it.

Ever since starting college, I've been less interested in playing in a band setting and more focusing on the important stuff, ie, work and school. I'd eventually like to have the equipment to create my own music without needing a band, just a matter of funds though.

If you're interested in it let me know. I'm currently trying to get my hands on a Series 2 Rect-O-Verb combo.

1. Lone Star Classic
2. Fender DeVille
3. Marshall Mini Stack MG15MSII
4. Marshall AS100D
5. Fender Acoustisonic SFX
6 Ampeg BA-115 bass amp
6.Roland KC-550 keyboard amp
7. Vox AD120VT Valvetronix and cabinet
8. Line 6 AX2 212 (loaned to a student)
9 Traynor YCV40WR and matching cabinet
10.Roland PM-3 drum module for the electronic drum kit.

play'em all and all have a place. now I'm looking for a great EL84 sound to go with my great (mesa boogie and Traynor) 6L6 sound. Put JJ tubes in the DeVille and it improved the sound alot. JJ tubes in the Traynor also helped better a great sound. I have the amp accumulation disease big time and there is no cure. next purchase is either the Dr. Z stingray or the lone star special or a way-over-priced badcat. Mark Sampson's Star amp is sweet too. But the versatility of the lone star special will most likely get my money.
