I'm starting to use my LSS a lot at gigs. I have an LSC which I can bring along as backup but that's not always viable. I have an Evans which is nice and much easier as backup; but what I really want to know is:

-What tubes should I be bringing with me to the gig as backups? I heard people have problems with 5Y3.

-I run 5 watt alot; I understand that burns the tubes fast: how long should I expect the power tubes to last?

-Should I basically just have a complete set of replacements?

Thanks as always.

From what I understand is that EL-34's don't last as long as say 6L6's. so I would have some spares handy. I haven't fried any pre amp tubes personally, I hear that power amp tubes are usually the culprit. So I think a spare pair of power tubes and a pair of pre amp tubes ought to do it.

I've been a tube ***** at home, i'm trying to build a collection on different tubes... But when I take her out, i always bring at least 1 full set, and a couple of fuses.

The only problem i had with my rect was due to my power tubes. As soon as i got a new set, no more rect problems.

(plan-x, LSS uses el-84's not 6l6/el-34)
