Look at the bright side get some custom tolex so they both match maybe a cream or cane would look good and hey on the mesa try an X pattern with some new speakers! optimism!

Also, if I were in that position, I'd be tempted to ask A Broun Sound (makers of Tone Tubby) if they could recone the speakers using their hemp cone paper. That would be AWESOME!

Make sure you compare the cost of recones to the cost of just winning mint speakers on ebay. The Mesa speakers are really just Celestions (if they are older) or Eminence (if they are newer). A C90 Black Shadow from Mesa will cost more than a V30, and they are essentially quite similar. etc...etc..etc.....

Too bad she's your wife......if you weren't married, it would be a prosecutable crime, felony if you inflate the value of everything.
