Sounds great, I A/B a couple of times , i like the mk3 best, but the mark V dossent sound as good as a real c+ in a studio , but what dos :D

You have the same marshall cab as i do, The BV i really like that cab, good focus and thightness and a splash of soul.

On side not . have do you hook up the marshall up to your mark 3 ?

regards

to my ears the two tones sound very, very close....with the V being a bit quieter sounding. I really need to experiment micing my IV some more...

yeah i love the BV..it actually started out as a B but i got a quad of V-30's and its wired with just one 8 ohm jack..perfect for the boogie. my experience with this so far, is that all mark amps will have that same flavor, but im sure there is nuances each one has that makes it unique, sometimes right down to each individual amp now that they're all so old for sure. mine is 25, and it looks original inside, but it sounds AMAZING still. Mid-heavy without an eq, which is tweakable, but the EQ in the loop at least helps give me the tones i love without having to send it down to Mike B. for a GEQ...for now

Nice steal, man!

I'm definitely a big fan of the Mark III. So many excellent tones in such a small box. Congrats and Jam away brother!

All the Best,
~Nep~

Hello, DirtyBoogieIII! Could you be so kind and let me know the EQ settings on the MXR-10 band in the loop? Btw, Liked all the clips.
Thanks,
Danijel

Hey everybody..new boogie owner and new to the forum. I recently picked up an '85 mark III black dot serial number in the 15###'s..WHAT a pickup..got it for 300 bucks in mint shape.

It's a non-eq, but a price like that is hard to pass up. Outside looks new, inside has original caps and some resistors were replaced due to something going wrong up near the tubes, which after 25 years is expected..but other than that, its perfect!!! took it a local licensed boogie dealer/repair center and he said other than the basic cleaning/retensioning and new tubes, its good to go. This amp is a beast!!! Im really happy with it and I'm glad to be a Boogie owner FINALLY. My friend has a Mark V, and we decided to run them against eachother, and then together. I used the backing track to Suicide and Redemption by Metallica for a few quick clips. The Mark V is on the IIC+ setting, with the classic "V" scoop in the GEQ. The III is running an MXR-10 band in the loop, shaped to sound as close as we could get it to the mark V's sound. Here are the clips:
