It's my amp mic'd. Recto pre into Recto 2:100 into Mesa 4x12 into Akai ACM-100 Condenser microphone (SUPER OLD MIC)
The mic is plugged into my Pod XT (bean) because it's really low output and the Pod is running into my PC via RCA input adapted from the Pod's 1/4 inch outs. I used the Pod for the compressor to boost the signal immensely and the EQ for a little tone shaping. So I guess, in a way, you guys are right but.... that is pure recto gain structure and the Pod was relegated to simply boosting the signal and some eq'ing this time.
It's really interesting how on my first clip everyone thought it was indeed a tube amp and it turns out to be the Pod XT bean and then on this second clip everyone thought it was a Pod. I tried not to influence the guessing at all or to be deceitful in any way the best I could. I really think that goes to show the power of the Pod. It has it's limitations most definitely, but you really can get a decent sound out of it if you try. Is anyone else offended that the Recto was mistaken for a Pod this time around?
Someone else should post a clip or two in here. My friend predicted that everyone would call this a Pod this time around. I was hoping that it was obvious that it wasn't. lol
Don't be shy people let's get a cool discussion going on in here. Post anything you want in response to this I enjoy a good discourse.

I still reckon that given all the right gear and expertise, a better sound will come from tube and analog gear, but modelling is so good now that u can get so close that the tens of thousands of $ worth of gear an years of experience does very little more for guitar tone than a single top of the line modeller. I spent a while recording my Rocktron pirahna preamp through the direct outputs, eq'd through a mackie desk and there is simply no way i could get a tone good even with the 4-5 different good mics, many thousands of $ of analog gear, professional expertise and hours of fiddling trying to mic my mesa gear. Not to mention the volume involved in mic'ing. Direct with my rocktron: instant, awesome, hassle free, easily shapeable, and low volume awesome heavy tones. I'm all about hi-price directed tube recording gear now days.... shouldn't have sold my recto pre :-(

They're basically an unknown beast of an amp... almost like it's a secret. There are a few great sounding Classic 30 tweeds, and I have a Black one that is. Perhaps you do too?
