On the 20/20 it's a case of moving 3 links from one position to another. And changing a varistor, plus of course changing all the fuses.

I don't know about the MKIV, or if it's even possible.

As for draining the caps.. there's plenty of info and guides out there, a google search should turn them up. Not something to take lightly though, don't go near the internals of your amps unless you're confident you understand exactly what you're doing.

Why would you be wanting to change from 230 to 240v ?

The UK's voltage used to be 240v but changed to 230 volts nominal: normally a single-phase supply, with a permitted range of voltage variation from plus 10% to minus 6%.

one day i was curious to how many volt are coming out of the wall so i stuck my Cat III muilt meter straight into the wall.. 240.4 volt's.. this was great becasue i now know that i have a Good source of AC coming from the wall..
