**PICS are a couple of posts down**
Need some help with this one. I just bought a Mark IIC+, serial #1246*. I called Boogie today to see what they had on it and there was no record of it ever being serviced/upgraded etc. I did the loop test and it is definitely a C+. I'm pretty sure it is an original C+ but would like to find out for certain as the serial number is so close to 12500. Here is what I can tell you.
-serial # 1246*
-short head
-Simul-Class/Reverb/Graphic EQ
-Chasis reads DRG 5 (although the G looks like a 6...probably nothing)
-Front circuit board reads RP11A 1983
-Rear circuit board reads Mesa Pwr - 7C1
-Rear circuit board also has a C+ on it
-Smaller transformer reads:
SC152019B
Mesa Eng
Simul-Class
EIA606-332
I don't believe the head shell is original as it looks too new. The amp is in excellent condition, especially for its age. I've read the IIC+ thread and learned quite a bit from it. Any help/comments would be appreciated. I'll try to get some pics when I can figure out what is wrong with my webshots account. Thanks!

My c+ left the factory as a c+ and the serial number is 1239*. Other people on the board have serial numbers below 12500 and are original and not upgrades. Yours should definately be an original c+.

your description sure makes it sound like it's original.
What's the face plate say over the Master knob?
gain boost or pull deep?

The mfg date on chasis will help immensely and perhaps be one of the better indicators all other info being what it is.

Pull Deep over top of Master 1 knob. May sound stupid but where would I find the mfg date on the chasis?

Some additional info. The larger transformer of the two reads as follows:

Mesa
105-162318
EIA606 342

The only way to tell if it's an upgrade is with a photo of the preamp PCB. All of your info points to a C+,
but Mesa's RA system only starts in the early 90's. Mesa was also unpredictable by making a few IIC's into the 12,600
serial range and starting to build C+'s in the 12,200's. The whole 12,500-15,000 is crap anyway. It's more like
12,200 mixed with IIC's to 12,400 and then 12,500-14,400-500 with a few anomalies.

I'll get some photos up of the guts tonight so we can get this figured out. Here is the one pic I have in the meantime.

Pics as promised. Some of the letters/numbers may be difficult to read but I've listed in my initial thread what everything reads. If anyone needs any specifics let me know. Thanks for everyones help.

To me, it is an original C+. The pre is the proper one and the transformers are made in 1983.

Cool...that's what I thought but I wanted to confirm with those of you who are more well-versed in all things IIC+.

So would this be considered a 1983 or 1984?

The pics are a bit small, but it appears to be mostly original. It's had the bright mod and a few resistors
replaced. It also has the .05 cap added to the power amp on the terminal strip. This is a part on the schematic that
never made it to production and prevents oscillation in the power amp at higher volumes.

Any idea if this is an 83' or 84'?

The tech date appears to be 2/84.

You must be working for the CIA or NASA, Edward. I don't know where the hell you could read that date :D
Trannies are from the last weeks of '83, so it makes all sense.

2/84 must have been busy, I've seen them range from 12,237 to 12,46X now.
What's interesting is that it has the "Pull Deep" faceplate with the GEQ.
Either someone dipped into the Pull Deep stash or they finally ran out of Gain Boost's.

Hey Guys, Thanks alot for helping me out with this. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I'm gonna go and make a donation to this board right now. Happy Holidays!!

They must have dipped early, my 12,6xx has a Gain Boost plate

are those El34's in the inside sockets?

I really dont know much about any other Marks than the IV.....but I've been hearing tons of good stuff about the IIC+'s around here!
