I have an old Roland GP 8 effects process that I use to control the channels on my Tri-Axis. I've been using it this way for years. I was messing around tonight because I was programming other channels and trying to get the channel to match the preset. I don't know what I did, but I pressed something, Tri-Axis blinked the presets and programs went blank and came back on. Only thing is that my Roland no longer switches the Tri-Axis channels. No matter what I do, it won't work. I know I must be doing something wrong and am looking for any suggestions. Thanks.

So this happened when you were pressing buttons on the Roland, not the Triaxis? If you were playing with the Triaxis, I'd say you had accidentally changed the MIDI channel. You need to check whether your MIDI channel is still matched between your Roland and the Triaxis. Press the PGM/CH button on the Triaxis to see which channel it's receiving on. Then check your Roland for its MIDI channel. I don't know anything about the Roland so I don't know how you go about setting the MIDI send channels. If that doesn't lead to a solution, try another MIDI controller and see if it's the controller or the Triaxis.

You could also try replacing the internal battery in the Triaxis. It retains the memory of all program presets. I don't know if that will help, but it's a good idea if you haven't done it for a while.

Good luck!

Actually I think I kind of figured this out! I must have hit something with the programming function. What I had been doing was just calling up a preset (and not worring about the program) and hitting Enter twice to map it to whatever channel I had on my GP 8. What I was trying to do was match the program channel to my present channel (31 for 31, 41 for 41, etc.) Right now I'll be on preset say 31 and the program will say 9 or something. It's working fine as I can access my 30 something presets for my three different guitars with my BP8/footboard, I'll just have to save the preset and program/channel mapping for another night when I'm not so darn tired!

Thanks for the reply Ando. I'll try messing with is some more tomrrow night. Lol I've had the Triaxis for awhile and never had an issue and then I start messing with stuff and look what happens! The Roland is OLD, like mid to late 80s old. I don't know how it rights MIDI commands, but I can check the manual and see. All I've done in the past is say go to channel 54 on the Tri-Axis and 54 on my Roland, hit enter twice, and I could always access it. (to go to it from say channel 20 I'd hit the "Bank" key on my Roland then 5 then 4 and it goes to 54, etc.) I'm going to try to understand what I screwed up tonight, even though it's working, so that I don't do it again.
