Blue Angel owners, what pedals do you use???

I am still really groovin on my Blue Angel.

I'm wondering what pedals you guys use with yours.

I use:

Guitar
Planet Waves Tuner (with true bypass)
Bad Horsie II Wah
Maxon Compressor
Fulldrive II (limited edition, with switch)
Fat Boost
Maxon AD-808 Re-issue Delay
Amp



I'm always looking to broaden the horizons a little.

I have a Carl Martin Hot Drive N Boost II, but it sounds a bit fizzy to me.


Mostly, I'm interested in what distortion pedals you guys are using and what type of tones you are after.

I just have a TS808 on the floor. Period. Don't use it all the time. The Blue Angel IS the tone I was looking for. Playing small 200/300 seat clubs unmiked the volume on 4;EL84's runs around 12:00. Sometimes 2:00 depending on crowd. On a few songs I run just the 2; 6V6's wide open with the tube screamer for a really nice tube distortion.

For super clean headroom the full 6 tubes gives a nice chime, but I usually stay in the 4;El84 mode.

Funny, I play a 91 American Tele, (single coils) but use the bright setting. Fat just doesn't work for me. Mine has a V30 in it.

I don't really have the opportunity to get that loud right now, although I really do like the tone when I do.


I've been using my Custom 22 with Duncans and stock McCarty on the Fat setting. The Bright just doesn't do anything for me.

I haven't tried it with my Strat though.

I use my BA mainly for clean sounds in 6V6 mode (bright) and modulate with an Ibanez FL-9, a EHX small stone and a Line-6 echo park. For smooth leads I use an OCD and a rangmaster clone and occsionally a modded crybaby, but screaming and howling is done by a JCM888 :twisted: (A superb modded JCM800 2204 combo from CMW amps)
