fuse popped in my Triple Rec also (i wasnt there;i found it with a black fuse laying behind it), and it turned out to be just the fuse.
if you're not sure of which fuses to buy, ask someone here (4amp sloblo in my Trip.)
i'll second this, i had bought a used Triple Rec, and a brand new Traynor YCS412 w/ V30's, and thats exactly what i had experienced.
but now....sweeeeeeeet :D
you seem level headed.
i'd be sticking my fingers in there mouth, squeezing from the outside with my thumb, and forcefully pull their lower jaw off.
of course, im very protective sincei showed up to the jam spot (a firneds house, where there was a party i guess) and the fuse was totally black...
i use the maxon od808 in front of my triple, and love it dearly. ive used a ts=9 tubescreamer in front of it, but didnt like it as much (was still awesome tho)
get a maxon od808 - i have one in front of my Triple Rec and it helps to tighten it up very very well.
ive also heard using a graphic eq (like a boss ge7 or somethin) in the effects loop helps tremendously, tho im sure other ppl can chime in on which frequencies to adjust.
but yea, get a maxon...
how many speakers do ya need to replace in the mesa?
you should make it so you have 2 Vintage 30's/C90's in the top and 2 EVM 12L's in the bottom.i did this to my Traynor YCS 412 (V30's in the top) and it is bruuuuutal.
be careful when ya turn that head on tho man, take er slow with it - hate to...
