Overdrive Pedals With Roadster (check out the Metal Zone)

Yeah I agree, The modern channel is great the way it is. The MZ didn't sound good added to that or the vintage mode. The way I'm using it it sounds best with a clean or slightly driven channel. With the brit voicing on channel 2 it does nicely for what I need it for. I don't use it much...

Overdrive Pedals With Roadster (check out the Metal Zone)

Ok, after trying a bunch of different ones here's what I've finally settled on and it's not just one but three. With the ones I'm using I can cover a lot of sonic territory on my roadster. Yes, some will argue that you don't need anyof these but what can I say, I like using them and I like the...

WEBER BEAM BLOCKERS ON ACE COMBO WOW!!!!

I had these on all four of my speakers in a mesa 4-12 standard cab. At the time I had a Stiletto and that thing could rip your head off if you were standing right in front of it. Even from a good distance. It made getting a good pa mix difficult sometimes in small clubs. I really liked them...

    DR w/ 2-6l6 and 2-EL34

I bought and tried the integrated quad in my roadster. It sounded pretty good actually. But after about a week I went back to the stock mesa tubes (6l6's) and decided I liked those better. I did a bunch of tube swapping but finally came back the original mesa's in the end. Best sound (to me) and...

Roadsters at a dealer near you?

I was in your same shoes. I ended up called dealers as far as two states away until I found one. Bought it over the phone and they shipped it to me. It cost me an extra $80. Of course the next day one was posted on e-bay and I could have saved a couple hundred bucks but oh well, I'm not looking...

Can a Roadster do Guns N Roses?

I agree with talus. I use a roadster 1-12 combo and I play mostly heavier rock and even some velvet revolver. It may not be "slash's tone" but it sounds **** good! Hell, I don't even play a les paul. I've never heard any complaints!

    Rig Picture

A few people have PM'ed asking for a picture of my rig. Not that it's anything special, here it is anyway. Link to pic is in my signature.

    Roadster+ BB.preamp

Hmmmmmm, guess I'll have to try one out now!

    Roadster's tuner out

I don't use mine. Mine is up front on my pedal board. I would imagine it's more useful for those using rack gear.

    Roadster cleans...

Have you tried rolling back the volume on your guitar (around 7-8)? It sounds like you have some pretty hot humbuckers. I had a similar issue with my wolfgangs. Try rolling back your guitar volume and see if that cleans it up. Also, the other suggestion above are good. Basically you need to...

Sold my Roadster.... I'm Boogie-less now............

tele_jas, I'd just like to say thank you very much for all your contributions especially when you went the roadster route. Your feedback, comments, suggestions and clips all really helped me make my decision when I bought my roadster! It's always nice to have guys like you (and the many other...

    Boost/Distortion pedals for Rectifiers?

I have a Roadster and I'm using a boss sd-1 and a tubescreamer. I use the tube screamer with a little gain (around 12 o'clock) only when I want to add some grit to the clean or brit channel and it works great! For the recto tones I use the boss as a clean boost. It really does make a difference...

which one for me: mark IV or roadster?

I love the Mark IV and was about to get one (I also play in a similar cover band). But, when the Roadster came out all bets were off. I bought the 1-12 combo and love it! Great cleans and awesome highgain recto tone and tons in between. The 4 channels and the reverb are a must (for me atleast)...

    Roadster 112 vs. 212

I bought the roadster 1-12 combo for kind of the same reason. Got tired of lugging around the 4-12. The Roadster 1-12 is no lightweight but it is manageable. I'm guessing it's in the 70-80lbs range. BUT, with the casters and side handles you really dont notice it that much. Twice a week I roll...

    Roadster 1/4 Stack

Yeah, I was considering that but it still costs $70 to get the removable caster from MB. Kinda pricey but probably worth it. For a fraction of that I can go to lowes and get something decent but not removable.

    Roadster 1/4 Stack

Picked up a 1-12 extension cabinet for my roadster. Looks and sounds great! It needs some wheels though to get it up off the ground more. Here's a pic. http://www.riotactband.com/images/roadster.jpg

Roadster Distortion vs. Dual Rectifier Distortion

I can't answer your question completely but I can tell you what I do know. I have a roadster 1x2 combo and the other guitar player in the band has a rectoverb head with a MB 4-12 bottom. Now, there are certainly some differences in playing style and gear between us that matter. He plays a les...

Roadster with "Integrated Quad" Played at Practice

Yes, it's a specially matched set of tubes from eurotubes. 2 6l6's and 2 EL34's that run in el34 mode.

    Good Noise gate - ?

+1 on the not needing one anymore because my DR is suprisingly quiet.

Buying tubes. What numbers do I look out for regarding bias

That's a good question. I'm also interested in knowing. For instance, if you go to musicians friend and look up Svetlana EL34's you'll see they have Hard, Med and Soft to choose from. I honestly didn't know which one would be best and I haven't gotten around to finding out yet.
