    After I got my first "nice" guitar I went through a "only have the best" stage....but that was based on name. Recently I've realized that if a guitar feels right, thats all that matters. Doesn't matter if its a custom made 10k monster or a pawn shop special, buy what you love.

    I have a standard marshall cab now but its a little low without the midrange bark. I love the recto cab but at times it is a bit "boomy" I'd prefer the low end over the mids so we'll see if this mixed marshall is what I'm looking for. Otherwise the standard v30 mesa will do nicely.

    I just did a google search of "DC-5 head" and everything was between 500-700 USD SHIPPED. I doubt this is the best market to get what you want out of this amp.

    I play in standard and half step down, with respective "drops" as well. occasionally a full step down a la Chevelle. More tubes = more expense and more things to go wrong. I'd rather get that earlier tone, but we'll see. I found a 1996 dual recto, is a newer something to look for or would a 96...

    Yeah I know there is only a few difference in db between the single and double (like 3 db maybe) but I wasn't sure about the triple. I was leaning away from the triple mainly for the extra 50 watts that I just don't need
