    PA and Live Sound Set-ups

I wasn't quite sure where to put this post, so "Off Topic" seems to make the most sense. Alright, my band has been borrowing a PA set-up for our last couple of shows. We have accumulated a small PA fund with the proceeds from the shows we've played and we're trying to invest in some of our own...

    Midi Rack NOOB

Hmm. you're right that's a lot of stuff to control. I'm not as familiar with the Quad, so I don't know how many switches/channels that need to be controlled. But, the Road King (depending the series you get) will have at least 8 or 9 switches to control. Now, you may not actually need to control...

Completing my Rig. Need some help.

Update. I've been in contact with Rocktron about the HEX pedal. They believe it is a problem with a bad pot. The rep said that he would send out a replacement right away. Can't beat that for customer service. :D Rocktron Rocks, Spread the word

Completing my Rig. Need some help.

Well, I think I've got the general idea. I was able to get to work on a few patches. Although I've noticed some quirky things about my particular pedal. I tried it on a Whammy patch, basically 1 octave up. Typically the CC range should be from 0-127. When I calibrate the HEX pedal it will only...

    Searching for a new guitar

If you got a good deal and you're happy, that's all that matters. I checked them out on GuitarCenter.com, they do have some cool finishes. Yes the double-locking to going to take some getting used to if you've always had fixed, once you get it, you'll really enjoy it. It may take a bit of...

    Small, Cheap, Practice Speaker

It's ok if it doesn't sound great at home, I just need something that will provide enough to handle the load from the head, so I don't fry it when I turn it on. It would be awesome if there were a way to use headphones.

    Small, Cheap, Practice Speaker

Alright, i'm sick of lugging my 4x12 back and forth between home and practice. I'd like to keep it there, but then I can't use my Dual Rec head at home. Does anyone have any suggestions for the smallest, cheapest, speaker cab that could handle the 3Ch. DR at low to moderate volumes. I know it...

custom paintjob on an acoustic guitar: need some advice

I've thought about doing this with some of my solid body electric guitars. If I were to do it, I would go the vinyl sticker route. That way, if you make a mistake, you haven't ruined you're guitars finish. Keep us updated on your progress. I'd love to see what you come with and how you went...

Just went to GC, have some questions

I have the 3Ch DR and I was looking for the versatility over what is described as marginly "better tone". I would recommend printing out the online manuals (just the recommended settings section) and bringing it along with you. Dial in some of those settings and go from there. If it's at a music...

    Midi Rack NOOB

I'll throw in my vote as well for RJM products. I'm currently building my rig around my 3Ch. Dual Rec. I've got the RJM Amp Gizmo for channel switching the amp, a Rocktron midimate foot board, and the TC G-Major is on the way. I guess we're in the same boat. Except, that your RKII is going to...

FX Loop Mod for Series II Single Rectifier

Does anyone know if this schematic for the mod works for the 3ch Dual Rec as well? I'm guessing that it's probably the same or very similar. How were you able to keep the Solo function working? I thought when you did the mod, you lost all control over the Solo switch. I posted a topic asking...

    Help with pedal control

I believe there is only one to do this, and that would to create a MIDI patch switching system. This would mean replacing the Mesa Foot Controller with a programmable MIDI footcontroller and getting a MIDI channel switching device for the Road King. Is this a series I or series II RK? This is...

anyone here have a custom pedalboard...?

I'd also recommend checking the Amo Gizmo or maybe the RG-16 (depending on the amount of options you need) from RJM music. http://www.rjmmusic.com/ They also have a MIDI foot controller to tie it all together. The system is very similar to the GCX, but I have to say the Ground Control Pro, is...

    RJM Amp Gizmo

Yeah, the Amp Gizmo can control the channels and other functions (up to 8 switches) via MIDI so you can program the amp to work with patches. You can either use individual 1/4" cables or get a custom made cable for the foorswitch jack of the Boogie.

    RJM Amp Gizmo

Woohoo 8) My RJM Amp Gizmo is on the way. Let the games begin. Anyone have one of these?

Tremonti PRS vs Petrucci Music Man

I like both of these guitars, but what the other guys have stated on here already is right, they are quite different. I really like the look of the tremonti PRS because it's a little different than the super strat style I have too many of. If I see one in a store or on Ebay for a reasonable...

    Floppy Tremolo arm

Is the tremolo arm a pop-in removable type? If so, the plastic washers may be worn out. They can easily be replaced with new ones.

    A great neck humbucker is...

I've got the PAF Pro, but I also like the tone of the PAF Joe and the Air Norton. :)
