    Boogie Mark I

Thanks ... I almost never change my controls on the Boogie but I never really nailed his tone ... mine is a bit more edge all the time. Not as smooth. V1 - slightly under 8 (slighly over with a single coil) V2 - slightly under 8 (slightly over with a single coil) T - 7-8 B - 2-3 M - either 3...

    77 Mesa MK 1

I've got a '78 Boogie and have always played the single channel and I love the sound. Recently, I've been thinking about adding to that sound by using a TS9 (or like pedal) running through the 2nd channel input (bypassing the first V1 preamp tube) and making it switchable. Sort of a "good...

    When to replace cap's ?

So on a '78 Boogie ... I should have a tech just replace outright? There is nothing that can be checked? If I replace, can you recommend good replacement parts? What other parts might need to be replaced due to age on my rig?

    When to replace cap's ?

I have not heard of this ... I have an old boogie and would like to inspect mine. What do these caps look like? What to look for? Any pictures?

He was the one who helped me fix my '78 Boogie fetron problem. I only got a little help from Mesa ... BB helped me get it repaired. A shame he is gone.

    Boss BR900CD - Should I exchange?

Thanks ... I'm thinking about upgrading my PC/software to do a better job on recording. Just liked the simplicity of this box. Appreciate the feedback. Still working with it ... Boss manuals take a while to understand. :D

    Boss BR900CD - Should I exchange?

Need some help recording. Can you give me some tips on this?

I recently tried the Boss DR880 ... it's got a pretty good drum machine built into it. You can also program chord progressions into it that the bass will follow ... including different styles. It's pricey at $495 but if you get it from Guitar Center you can try it and take it back within 30...

    Mark IV MP3!!

I read it. I listened to the other stuff ... I liked "Unnamed For Now". Who's playing the keyboard into that? Then the guitar enters later ... nice ... leaving some spaces inbetween the fast notes. I heard some tasty tones. Great playing!

'78 Boogie + Schecter Tele & Washburn (Boogiebabies note

I just got this Boss rig ... wanted to get something down quick. Programmed the drums after a couple of manual reads. Laid down the rhythm track the same evening. Came up with the bass part the next morning. Through together some words from an earlier song. Laid down some vocals &...

Marks (Before there were II, III or IV)

This is true ... reportedly Santana said "that thing really boogies" ... there you go. My amp chasis was signed by Randall Smith on 3/24/88. I still have letters from him and his wife when I was buying the amp. So I'm pretty sure he built them in small operation. The amp says Boogie and the...

    Fetron Fix

The first time I've got around to recording my "post-Fetron" Boogie. I posted the clip on my website. Recorded with my Schecter & Washburn (not my trusty Yamaha). But I think it came out fine. Sympathize Everything else on the site is recorded "with Fetron". Thanks again to Boogiebabies...

'78 Boogie + Schecter Tele & Washburn (Boogiebabies note

This clip is a new clip that I put together on a Boss BR900CD recorder. The guitar on the left is a Schecter Tele through the Boss. The guitar on the right is the Washburn/Boogie combo. I recorded the Yamaha bass through the Boss and programmed the onboard drums. Added vocals/backgrounds...

Marks (Before there were II, III or IV)

Actually my '78 boogie has MESA logo written on it too. But they were still low volume ... hand built at that time. I ordered/paid for mine in December ... and it was delivered the next July. You can see it in the avatar.

Marks (Before there were II, III or IV)

I check fairly often but there is very rarely something about the original Boogies. Is it because they are rare or do people just prefer the newer models. It's not really a Mark I (there were none until IIs came along). I have to say, once I got this amp, I never needed another one. My Boogie...

    Current Production EV12L

I built this sealed cabinet for a EVM12L when I bought my original Boogie back in '78. Built well but heavy for a 1x12 cab ... cab weighs 45 pounds. It's still going strong ... does everything I want. It can also compete with guys with 4x12s on stage. Awesome speaker ... still completely...
