    Single rec solo 50 problem/question.

Trade the v1 tube out. I dare you. But the single recto is not known for its cleans. If you put a reverb or chorus on it, it will sound pretty sweet.

What made you decide to buy a mesa boogie?

Well, soon after I started gettting serious with my band, i bought an avt 50 half stack (Marshall, tube preamp). I had no ear for tone at this point, but the shop I was getting lessons at started carrying MB products - I remember when I first saw the rectifiers - The look blew me away, and the...

    First Mark IV Gig

I am completely blown away. I have been recording with it, lead channel volume three, master channel volume 5, But getting it into a big room, with the band, now makes me 100% satisfied with the purchase. Also, any doubts about how much bass this thing is capable of, with a 4x12 is now gone -...

Yaaaay! Blown fuse, tube problems? Warranty work!!

Well, yeah, I know what a fuse is, but why would Kris Dilbeck (head of customer service, and the guy that tests out all the amps) tell me to go have it checked out then? To get a new fuse and tube under warranty, and just so make sure nothing screwy happened? I guess that would make sense if...

Yaaaay! Blown fuse, tube problems? Warranty work!!

Well, he said that it was possible that with a blown power tube, the power transformer could have been damaged, hence my need for warranty work. Whats the chance that it actually got damaged? It worries me for this reason, if im on the road, and a tube pops, do i have to worry about the...

Yaaaay! Blown fuse, tube problems? Warranty work!!

Im super stoked everyone! I have had my amp for 2 weeks now, and last night in the studio the fuse popped while I was playing. I just got off the phone with Mesa, and it looks like a power tube had a problem, and now i have to take it in to get warranty work done on it. As you can guess, im...

What is retail Pricing (Guitar Center, etc) for Mark IV's

I just bought my MkIV at GC - 1850+tax, expect to pay around 2k, depending on your tax rate. But if your buying at GC, they can comp you some free stuff if you ask, or dicker enough.

    Bogner vs Mesa

My band is in the studio now, and The uberschall is what im mixing with one channel (either an engl Powerball, or the new MkIV will be the other channel). Im loving the tones we get out of it. I wont say there is more bass than the recto, but I will say the bass is much cleaner and tighter. When...

    Picked up the Mark IV!

Im not done dialing it in, but **** it, im taking it into the studio this weekend- Ill use it for lead tones at least. Wish me tone finding luck! Boogiebabies, Im assuming you have in the past, but would you mind posting your lead settings?

    Whatcha guys think?

Well, im sure it would sell well, But it might bite into mark IV sales, as the IV is suppsoed to be everything the II was, and more. I could see a 2 channel, reverb, and EQ II becoming a big problem for IV sales.

    Picked up the Mark IV!

On the Lead channel, high gain/metal applications, im finding I only like the bass with the eq on, and close to, or above the top line? Is this normal? Or am I just too used to the recto bass? Ideas?

    The Famous...

Well the amp is vaunted for its clean channel, sounds like your model is modeling the clean channel. Do me a favor if you dont believe me. Go listen to Master of Puppets and tell me it is a Low gain amplifier.
