i only partially understand your post :oops: what would you recommend for mic'ing positions ? i have both a condensor and 57.. i actually found a weird sweet spot tonight where i have the sm57 about 4 or 5 inches away, off axis

So far i've tried with my MKV: Orange 212 Stiletto 212 Recto 212 I would place them in that order, in terms of sound quality.. NOW.. I just received my Port City 212 w/ Eminence Cannabis Rex Speakers... oh man.. This thing blows away any of the above cabs! I can finally turn my mark up...

its doubtful that is was faulty. the mark v won't sound good with the same settings you used to use on your mark iv, and it will take a while to dial in.. you just need to spend more time with it and be patient
