    Strange red channel behavior

I just recently acquired the amp, but this problem occured after I got it. I may possibly have overdriven the pre while playing with an fx pedal. Another possible culprit is that I cleaned a bunch of dust and garbage off the top of the chassis (and remove the tubes to do it). I was trying to...

    Tremoverb w/ ATA roadcase.

Looks like no sale.... Any interest in selling the cab (or cab and ATA case) without the head in Colo Springs?

    Strange red channel behavior

I've got a two channel DR. The orange channel work fine. On the red channel, the bass and mid controls seem to have no effect (regardless of gain and treble settings); the treble works like a volume control... when the treble goes down, there's no volume at all. The bass pot seems a little...

    What's a tremoverb head worth

On ebay completed listings, two went for around $800 and a really sweet -looking custom head went for $1600 with a matching 2x12 cab. ...quite a difference. Any ideas why the prices are so far apart? ...what should one go for?

Does anyone REALLY need a Triple Rectifier?

I'm using a Hot Plate with my DR, and it's still too loud. I don't think I need an extra 50 watts. Though with the extra headroom, maybe I could get my cleans up to 150dB before it starts breaking up. :-) Cleans don't need to be played that loud. If you're playing that loud, you should be...

Amp Choice Help, Tone Needed- 80's Metal & More

Would a JMP pre thru a recto power amp (skip the recto preamp) sound like a real Marshall? ...or close?

How to clean up my amp

I've got an old 2ch recto that could use a good cleaning, there's a little rust here and there. Any good advice? Any books I should get that tell me what parts of the amp will kill me if I touch? Thanks in advance..

What will a hotplate do for me and my DR?

That's the idea. I'll be able to speak more definitely on the subject in a few days (once my HP arrives).

    CLEANING UP MY SOUND

From page 11 of the Rect manual (2 channel)... NOTE: When the CHANNEL STYLE SELECT feature is used and the Modern Red channel is cloning Red to Vintage (so that it sounds like the Orange channel) - be aware that both the Orange and Red channels' PRESENCE Controls are active in the (bottom) Red...

    ohmage....

It sounds like a simple splitter, where the tip of the male end, connects to the jack for the tip in both female ends, and the sleeve likewise (in which case, it's really not 2 stereo female end--it would be two mono, making stereo). If that's the case, this is a parallel connection which...

    Hot plate attenuator

I hope this subject hasn't been rehashed too much... I did a search and could find much info easily. Is an attenuator invaluable gear for a home studio? Do you really get "loud" amp sound at a lower volume? (It would seem like you could get the power amp's "loud" sound, but not the speaker's.)...

    Single coils

Strat thru a Mark I is beautiful... I prefer it to my PRS. In most cases, single coil may need a little more drive (even for clean sounds) to warm it up. I haven't tried the strat thru the DR yet. YMMV.

    Another recommendation question

Thanks for the input. I definetly decided to keep the MKI, which left me with not a whole lot of money (whatever I get from the sale of the Recto Pre and 50/50). So I just bought an older 2ch DR. Maybe one day, when money is no object, I'll go for the RK, but for now, I think I'll be able to...

Beautiful Blonde/Black with Chrom Early 2 channel Recto Ebay

He has just recently started coming around here. :-) I bought it; the Holdsworth part was interesting, but not at all a deciding factor. Somehow, I don't think it will make my playing sound like AH.

Beautiful Blonde/Black with Chrom Early 2 channel Recto Ebay

Hmm.. he didn't mention not disclosing it to me. I don't really know anyway to verify if it belonged to AH.

Beautiful Blonde/Black with Chrom Early 2 channel Recto Ebay

Here's what the seller told me... "It belonged to Allan Holdsworth,he had professionally covered.... The tubes are Mesa and not sure when last changed."

    Another recommendation question

Currently, I have a MB Recto Recording Pre, a 50/50, a Mark I (not the reissue), and a 2x12 vertical Recto cab and am considering making changes... Option 1: Sell the Recto Pre and the 50/50 and buying a Dual Rect or Triple Rect Option 2: Sell the Pre, the 50/50, and the Mark I, and get a...
