You want to use EL-34 Svetlanas. Blows the JJ's away. The SED =C= 6L6 is the one to use.

I find that my RK II doesnt really nail that Marshall sound. It sounds like a Rectifier for sure. Try a Mesa Stilletto or a Rivera.

You may also want to try a few different tubes in V1. Try a re-issue Tung-Sol, (smooth) or A Electro-Harmonix, (very quiet) works nice in there. It never hurts to have a spare tube if you dont like it in your amp. I prefer the Tung-Sol. Pick up a 5751 also for V1. It runs at about 70% less...

Tried a few amps today and actually liked this custom very red F-50 with a tan colored grill. Its not a current model but it sure sounded great. I did do a complete re-tube on it with some Svetlanas and a Tung-Sol 12AX7 in V1. Sounds killa now.
