Who's got a custom finish Express?

I'm yer huckleberry... 5:25 1x12" "wine red taurus" ordered from one of the newer online dealers who had it "in stock" awhile back, for somewhat less than if I had placed custom order myself. Love the thing.

    2x12 cabs: Recto X Roadster X Stiletto

Interesting thread. I am in the market for a Stiletto Ace head & 2x12 cab. There are so many options on the latter, and so few opportunities to try a wide range of them, at "stage volume," before one buys. I was leaning toward the Roadster 2x12 or Stiletto 2x12 cab- the specs sure look...

Just sold the ROV and bought a Stiletto Ace . . . wow!

Holy crap, GC employees can get that big of a discount? $600 off of $1500? I think I need to hang out at GC more often and make some new friends!! Glad you like the Ace head, hope to get one myself soon.

    ohmage for dual recto

Nah, to be like me you just need to spend colossal amounts of time (and sometimes money) for about 20 years or so, screwing around with gear (yours, others, at the music store), reading guitar rags and gear catalogs/web sites. Oh yeah, and occasionally playing and gigging.

what are the advantages of running a cab in stereo??

For stereo effects like chorus, delay/echo, reverb, panning, etc., either from stomp boxes or rack effects (with left and right outputs). But to do that, you need two amps, or at least a stereo power amp (like Mesa 20/20, 2:Fifty, etc.)- using the preamp section of a normal amp, or a...

    ohmage for dual recto

no problem. if you're using an attentuator, it should be the same impedance (what your're calling ohmage) as the jack you're using on your speaker cab (4 ohms or 16 ohms with your Laney cab), which should also be the same impedance as the speaker jack you're using on your amp. The name of the...

    ohmage for dual recto

when the switch is set to "mono," the jack on the left side of the pic is 4 ohms and the jack on the right is 16 ohms. Ignore the "8 ohm right/left" labels (unless you switch to stereo because you want to use it as a stereo cab!). when using one cab, connect the 4 ohm cab jack (on left in pic)...

Running dual recto @ 50 watts

Doesn't using more than one cab somewhat defeat the purpose of an attenuator? Adding cabs usually increases volume, even with the same amp settings, right? Are the tonal benefits really worth it, over one cab, given the volume "problem?" Just food for thought. I haven't played through a full...

Running dual recto @ 50 watts

Hi, noob here. I called THD recently with a similar question, about my 8 ohm Hotplate. I got a nice explanation of how these things work. The two speaker jacks on the back of the hotplate are in parallel, just like the multiple speaker jacks on most amps. Putting two 8 ohm cabs in parallel...
