Seasoned veterans of the Mark V, why should I get the Mark V

Scratch that, I think NoFX used Mark IVs, and they sounded great. Very different style of punk, compared the usual Recto/modded Plexi sounds that are associated with that genre. Actually, come to think of it, if the NoFX gain and soloing is Mark sounds, count me all in! Seriously! While I...

Seasoned veterans of the Mark V, why should I get the Mark V

Thanks for the help everyone! I will definitely have to try both the Mark V and 'Dyne out, and, from I've read, it sounds like I will have a tough decision to make. I am leaning towards the Mark though. I like the fact that some of you have said that El34s sound good in it. If that is true...

Seasoned veterans of the Mark V, why should I get the Mark V

The el34s are Mesa branded of course, and I will do just as you suggested. Is the Mark and the ED good or bad with the el34s? The el34s are great at smoothing out the gain in the Roadster, but really ruin my ideal clean tone. I didn't feel that the cleans could at all cut through the mix...

Seasoned veterans of the Mark V, why should I get the Mark V

Out of curiosity, what is about the Mark V that would make it not for everyone? Outside of the sphere of the obvious of course, but compared to other amps that are similar to it, why wouldn't it be for everyone? The Mark V really does seem like a great COLLECTION of amps, rather than a single...

Seasoned veterans of the Mark V, why should I get the Mark V

I was thinking about keeping the roadster. I want a sound that will different that what i am used to. i grew up listening to '90s rock and punk and became very familiar with the "buzzsaw" recto tone. i want something different now. something that i am not used to, but a sound that is more...

Seasoned veterans of the Mark V, why should I get the Mark V

I am a Mesa Roadster user and am about to switch over to something new. I am contemplating the Mark V. I have not played it in person yet (something I will be doing this weekend), but I have listened to some MP3s and some compressed YouTube videos of it. I am not at all familiar with the Mark...

    Fuse on Roadster not unscrewing!

That is how you would get to the fuse correct? You would unscrew the little black thing in the back, no? It is not budging at all which is cause for some alarm!

Is it possible to play a 212 cabinet (8ohms) with the 112

Is it possible to play a 212 cabinet and use the 112 in the combo version of the Electra dyne?

And the Roadster Reigns SUPREME (Owners look)!!!

Not necessarily. A lot of those cabs you see at shows are for looks.

Is it possible to put 6v6 in the Roadster safely?

Has anyone tried this? I am tempted to try it, but I don't know how safe it is for my amp? Any suggestions or comments to share?

    Roadster ch3 & ch4

The only way I really enjoy channel 4 modern is with the factory settings (Recto Modern) as a base. This setting sounds very, very good -- a well balanced hard rock/punk tone, with a lot of compression. The only problem I have with this setting is that you have to keep the master relatively...

    speaker replacment for Roadster

I also recommend V30's. They sound so good all around with the many tones of the Roadster, and really complement the big bottom end of this amp. I also play out of an Orange PPC212 and an Avatar Contemporary212 -- two very dark sounding cabinets. Still though, I love the fragile top end that...

    recto hum in standby ?"

I have noticed it on my Roadster. When I brought mine into a tech to have it checked out, embarrassingly the hum went away. The tech told me often times power supplies can do that to an amp. Of course, I went home (drove an hour to have the thing looked at!) after having the tech tell me...

    2009 Roadster for sale 1600

]I am selling my 2009 Mesa Roadster head. I bought it brand new from GC and it was never one of the floor models. I had one ordered, which was a necessity and a pain in the *%$ at the same time. Anyways, this amp is in perfect condition and comes with all appropriate materials. If you are...

EFX loop in Roadster... DO I NEED line level?!?

Line level turns up and down the volume of things in you FX loop, but also tweaks the sound of you channels too. Try it, zero out the line level and you'll see the overall volume of you amp has decreased. I think most people (myself included) set this to noon. Enjoy!

1st Band Practice with the Roadster

Channel 3 and 4 are supposed to be identical channels, but if you eq'd both identically, you would notice that channel four is a bit deeper than channel 3. It is just the nature of channel 4. Plus, if you read the manual, channel 4's presence from 12 o'clock and over is more than channel 3's...

How to reamp with the Apogee Duet and Roadster?

Dark Andy, the Instrument Amp is not an INPUT, it is an OUTPUT option. The Duet has four inputs -- 2 Hi-Z Instrument inputs, and 2 XLR inputs. I can easily record my amplifier with my SM 57 and the XLR input. After doing so though, I was thinking of reamping with one of the two output. With...
