    Whats more br00tal????!!!!

if you gonna chugg you ll need the Roadster. it is smoother but also tighter. it is the best mesa boogie so far(my opinion). I play mainly death metal brutal with an overdrive in front of the amp.

    frustrating mesa sound please help!!!

sounds strange that crackle sound. boost the mesa with an overdrive for tighter sound, but if u want the Pantera sound you have to buy a cheap bad sounding amp like Randall.not a tube amp though. a 6505 is a good choice but its not gonna sound like Pantera.

    EL34's or 6L6's in Roadster?

Ill always use 6L6s cause the sound very good- used EL34s in my ex dual recto and i did nt like the sound. but you might get a little tighter sound with the el34s, smoother bas(maybe)

Dual Recto Mods -- Any suggestions, tips, advice?

all people don t like the reco sound so......i use my roadster and my 2 channel recto with a maxon od 808 and absolutely love the sound of it. keep the bass low on the 3 channel recto and the gain at about 1 oclock. maybe it is just a eq question but try to play it loud......

Single Rectifier vs. Dual Rectifier - Sound Differences

What cabinet/s do you guys use with your 2 channel Recto???

recorde some tracks this weekend and tried a lot of cabs. with my dual recto 2 channel and my roadster the mesa standard oversized cab sounded best. the marshall 1960 cab sounded so weak and bad so........could n t handle the low end

Here's an example of a Recto/Roadster with an OD

the roadster is not a super flubby amp. with an od it sounds nearer a tight dual recto 2 channel

most effective way to tighten a recto?

Ive got the bass around noon middle at 12-1 oclock, treble 1 oclock gain at 1 oclock.prescence 12 oclock, boosting it with maxon od808 vol max gain 0 and tone at 12 oclock and it is very tight. what kind of pickups are u using????? with emg s it is super tight
  15. W

Favorite guitar / pickup combo for Rectifier?

I really like the sound of emgs through a dual recto. tight and nasty. emg s are not my favvo pickups but with a mesa it is always a safe card. most pickups sounds ok through a mesa actually.even epiphone stock pickups
  16. W

    Dual Rec EQ

no I experience the opposite. you really have to take it easy with the knobs.

Are stock Roadster tubes really that bad?

I think mesa stock tubes sound good. ok you can maybe change the sound with other pre amps tubes but people talks alot about jjs and I hate those. sounds dull and boring. jjs powertubes sounds great though the most important is what U think!!!!!!!!!!!!! do u like the way your amp sounds...

Roadster vs 2ch Dual.... live gigging and versitility.

you have more options with the Roadster and you can get similar tones out of it as the 2 channel dual. the 2channel sounds absolutely amazing but if I had to choose i would take the roadster for its versatility

    Question Regarding the Rectifer Tube

with the rectifier tubes engaged you get a more "saggy"" feeling to the tone. hard to describe. if youve heard an old fender then u know what i mean. it is not a scam from mesa. with diode engaged you got a more direct tone, harder, hope so´meone else can explain better

What's a good pedal to get my gain ala As I lay Dying?

the od9 steals a little bass and you get a little more saturation. it sounds very good but i prefer the maxon od 808
