So there seem to be a lot people asking about how to tighten their Recto's and Roadsters and asking about how an overdrive comes into play. I just came back from dialing in guitar tones for my band's upcoming CD last night and thought I'd post a clip of what a Roadster sounds like with an overdrive on channel 4 to tighten it up. Now this isn't mixed and these are just rough scratch guitar tracks, but it's a decent example of how much of a difference an OD can make in front of a Rectifier series amp.

Wow, it's hard to believe that's a Roadster. The super "flubbiness" is completely unapparent in the mix.

Also, that's some pretty good sounds in the mix and great playing for just being scratch tracks, lol.

the roadster is not a super flubby amp. with an od it sounds nearer a tight dual recto 2 channel

Thanks guys. They're just scratch tracks, I'll post the real version when the album is done. :)

I was using a Maxon OD808.

How did you run the OD? Gain all but off, volume maxed? Tone straight up?

Pretty much. Gain almost off, volume almost all of the way up, tone at 1 o'clock

if those are just scratch tracks, I really want to here the 'real thing' when it is done!

is your maxon modded at all?

Nice clip, Nitrobattery! Kinda sounds like shred meets modern metal. Best of luck to you and your band.

Nope, bone stock!

Sounds great! I'll have to hit up one of your shows soon.

We're in Binghamton this Saturday!

****, I missed this post. I was in getting some work done by Dan at Indelible Inks last Friday and he was showing me the sketches for your CD cover artwork. Very cool! Dan's a great guy and an amazing artist.
