Good choice duder. Dual Rectos own all. Except for Mark II c+, Mark IV and SLO 100. But you get the picture.
interesting about the SLO. amazing amp. but after recently A/B ing it against a dual rectifier solo head. i cant say i prefer it over the recto. first i thought the bass of the slo was unsurpassed and that the mesa bass was flubby, end of story.
my comparison revealed something very different.
with...
the slo volume a tad above 4 (quite loud) lead channel, preamp at about 2, high and it gets compressed
dual rect volume at approx 10:00 (loop , solo bypassed, VERY IMPORTANT)
i found the dual rect has loads of chunk and definition, and crushing bottom end.
the SLO, very rich harmonics, but not as much punch in the lows or highs.
the recto just kicked my feakin ***.
ofcourse i was running them both through a marshall jcm 900 cab. i was suspecting maybe the cab might not have the resolution to play all the beautiful harmonics of the slo, but, in any case,
my SLO is now for sale on ebay.
ive had it for about 3 months.
gonna buy the dual rect solo head. again.
my mk iv will probably be going up for sale as well. weep weep.
