See subject. I'm looking to pick up a used one if it's a decent deal. I don't care much about wear and tear within reason. I live near san fransisco and local deals would be preferred but not required!

Sorry, I did see your ad. I'm interested in matching the head to the cab, though like I implied above I'm starting to wonder if that's a bad idea.superbird said:Not sure if you are interested but i have a Road King 2x12 cab for sale.
Thanks for the input.MetalMatt said:It could be one of two things. Either people don't know of the Roadster cab. Or everyone likes them so much they don't want to get rid of them
The Roadster and Stiletto cab are the same dimensions. The only differences, the Roadster is heavier by 2 pounds and the piping that comes with the cabs Stiletto=silver and Roadster=black. If you don't mind having a matching cab. Stiletto cabs are great cabs.

Yeah I was considering a Stiletto cab since there was a thread in the Modern Amp forum recently that said what you just said. But I have to wonder where those two extra pounds comes from, and if perhaps the Roadster cab is still ever-so-slightly voiced more specifically to match up with the Roadster.
I wish this info were more easily available. I started to make a spreadsheet of all the various differences and stuff so the community could use it but I quickly got overwhelmed and into hearsay territory so I gave up.

I asked Mesa and the forum here the exact same question, thinking their may be a baffle between the speakers. So what is the difference between the Stiletto and Roadster 2x12?
jdurso said:.... the roadster is voiced a lot different from the stiletto ....
Null!! The difference is the false front on the roadster. The roadster looks thicker on the edges because of a thicker lip. That's where the weight comes from. The only other difference is piping. "Sonicly, they are identical." ...that's what mesa says.
Sorry jdurso, the maker doth preach.
You can find them, but happy hunting.
Got mine from a fellow forumite here!!! If that wasn't the case, I'd have a Stiletto and be content with the sound ... the silver piping would grade on my nerves though.

Now all I need is for one of you guys to sell me one!
Thanks for the advice, I was pretty much thinking what you said. I know where a new one is for sale in the area, but I was just hoping to save a few bucks since I don't care about a few dings and scratches.jdurso said:just a suggestion.... of the used roadsters ive seen they range anywhere from 450-550.... i lucked out and found a guy that needed to sell his quick but i still paid 400 plus shipping..... so if one pops up used the chances are your going to pay near 500-600 shipped.... the cab through guitar center is 590 brand new.... if your looking to get the cab sooner or later you might want to just get it new... i was going to do that but i just lucked out and found one on craigslist just before i was going to order one through GC... again just a suggestion because 590 isnt that much of a difference for what your going to find used out there (most of the time)
