Recently I blew out a preamp tube and I have an itch to just retube the whole thing (preamp wise, Already have Winged C's in the poweramp).
At first I was leaning towards JJ's but I'm thinking about just buying 4 Tung Sol's (I can get them from a guy in dallas for 50 bucks, 2.99 shipping), and just putting them in valves 1-4 and sticking a JJ I have laying around already in the Phase inverter.
Would Tung Sol's work great in all the valve stages or should I have a myriad of brands to produce the best sound? I like my fluid drive channel to have good smooth gain, so maybe I should put a High gain JJ in the valve 3? I don't know really.
