Oh you said combo specifically. My smart *** response isn't as funny anymore.

I just picked up a Vox AD30VT and it's got some good tone to it. For a more metal vibe, I think they just came out with an xl version with higher gain. Maybe check that one out. Good luck.

Well I ended getting a used Vox AD50VT212 in perfect condition. I got it at a great price so if it ends up not being metal enough..it will back to eBay.

DO NOT like the Vox AD50VT212! It just doesn't have enough ballo's to do what I want. Maybe the XL would be better??
Going to my local shop today to try to find "something". THey have new Mark IV head laying there....I MUST refrain!!

Hey Syd, don't refrain, I always use my Mark IV for practice, there is no substitute for having the "real" sound while practicing. Otherwise you are just wondering if its going to sound right when you get to the gig. I think the Mark IV with a Hot Plate works perfectly for practice, but even without the Hot Plate it still sounds like a Mark IV at bedroom levels.

I also like my 5:25 but it is a "different" sound. Good Luck!
