So true about the serial numbers.So this is all the info I have on the amp - built 9/13/82......., I still am not sure what it is as I can't figure out what the serial number is. ......the engraved numbers don't seem to match 1983 numbering but Boogie says they weren't that organized on numbering back then.
Here's a little info about the Mk-IIB production numbers and serial numbers.
The info is from Ian Dickey's old website "The Boogie Files". (which was likely the impetus for the creation of this forum)
What you have is shown as a "1x12" in the list below. AKA a "Combo" - meaning both amp and speaker in the same cabinet.
(Fwiw amps always seem to appear with serial numbers that are outside the ranges below)
Mark Series Production Numbers for Mark IIB:
Yours is one of these ---->Mark IIB 1X12: 5575-11000 = 5426 Mark IIB's
------
Mark IIB 1X15: B550-1100 = 550 Mark IIB
Mark IIB Series 300: K001 to K336 = 336 Series 300 Mark IIB
August 1980 to May 1983 = 6312 Mark IIB's
