... in any case he is still in the boogie scene ! can't wait to get a first pic on "our" snakeskin project ...

cool. please post pics when you can...

this whole debacle is a cryin' shame

in seriousness, though, restoring his post history might require reverting the whole board to a backup copy and losing all the posts since then. which is probably not ideal either.

it's a really sucky situation. I do think that for 80 per cent of board tough-guy ********, humiliation is the best way to solve it; I'm on another non-music board where two guys who got in a completely stupid imma-get-you-sucka flame war just got locked from posting for a couple weeks while a stickied thread piled up with people photoshopping their stupidest posts into image macros, doing dramatic readings of them in an elmer fudd voice, etc. When the locks expired they behaved.

When you make noises like a tough guy on the internet, whether you started it or not, you sound like a moron, and having it pointed out to you how dumb you sound usually keeps you from doing it again unless you're one of those rare guys who has literally nothing else to live for except their e-peen.

it's ned's board and he gets to decide what to do, if it bothers anyone that much they can vote with their e-feet or by choosing whether nor not to donate to the board (for the first time, or again.)

I'm not going to bring back all those posts as it would require a massive effort (that I don't have time for), involve additional costs (for a board that doesn't make any money) and we would lose everything since GTS's last posts.

George has been invited back, it's totally up to him at this point.

ok, understood ! personally I think though after somebody's 3000 posts had been deleted, a simple invitation back might not do it ? on the other hand I can understand, that the board rules must apply to everybody. in the sense of keeping the knowledge on this board and in the posts, I wonder if it would not be possible to just restore / back up the vintage amps section ? would seem like a compromise towards both directions to me.

true, that.

the thing that i just can't imagine, is just blowing away that many (good) posts with no way to get them back.
seems very bone headed to me......

WELL, I HOPE THESE POSTS CAN BE PUT BACK IN SOMEHOW......

They're all too good to lose in total.....

And bring back "The Gain Deli's" posts to. Those were fun. Dam ROHS solder.

seriously man let it go

the posts are gone, unless you're willing to hire ned a contractor to go greppin' through backups.

it shouldn't be that hard to get those posts back,
i mean, nobody in their right mind, would just blow away that many posts without knowing they could put them back, right? it can't be that hard.....

i mean, seriously, it's not asking that much.
it's just not one of those things that should just be lightly 'let go'

here is one of gts' threads, although his posts are deleted, gts started it, and it even got a sticky!
