was somebody's life threatened?
It all happened so quickly that few members (including me) have direct knowledge of the events. Those who have knowledge are probably (wisely) remaining quiet in the interests of not making matters worse. George's contributions to the Board were considerable, and I hope things can be worked out.

wow, i kinda said that as a joke, just to spur the conversation.

little did i know.........

if somebody did something bad enough to george, to get him that riled, i would imagine that person would have to have been an real f'kin anus hole to get GTS suspended.

wtf?

is this forum full of children, or what?

i've missed all of this.... i guess i should just be happy.

ok joey....

i read that post at the link you provided.

i still don't get it.

After reading those posts (with links provided for the background) I can understand the frustration from both sides. I own a lot of Mesas and just recently picked up several IIC+'s from Mreeve (thank you brother) and, not only have I not turned on any of my III's, IV's or my V, I have not even tried the clean channel on my IIC+'s because they are just too tough to stop playing on the lead channel. I have been playing Mesas exclusively since '88 and I didn't truly believe the hype or they could be THAT much better. I set my sights on getting one or at least hearing one back in March.

If you have not tried a IIC+, please, do yourself a favor and experience one. It will not only change your opinion about the "feel" comments made by Joey B. to the point you completely understand what he is talking about, but it will settle the debate about the worth, etc. of a IIC+. Of course, this is my opinion, but when I turned on that IIC+ a couple months ago for the first time... within seconds, I just knew I was home. I'm not selling my other amps quite yet, but maybe a few of the dupes will be retired.

Oh, by the way, I'm in NYC for work this week, midtown. So I went to Rudy's Amp Showroom and asked about any used IIC+'s they might have seen lately. THE amp guy had no idea what a IIC+ was. Then he said they didn't sell used amps. Bummer.

Are Gain Deli's posts still up? Too soon?

I lol'd

how about that brazilian guy who claimed to own a studio and a Triaxis rig? He was awesome.

i own a iib, and when my buddy bought his iic+, we compared.

honestly, there wasn't that much difference.
surely not enough for me to warrant immediately selling my 2 year old boogie to get a iic+ !

even he agreed, the differences were minor.
and ultimately, all that matters is how you use it.

if it were me, and i had 4 grand to burn, i could think of a dozen amplifiers i'd go for, none of them includes the IIc+.

that said, i'm glad folks that have the IIc+ models love them so much, i think boogies are great! that's why i've held onto mine for so long.

but personally, i think folks are drinking coolaid about the 'unreachable unfathomable abilities' of the IIc+ to create the ULTIMATE tone.
honestly, i think these folks dropped so much coin on these models, they HAVE to convince themselves that the money was worth it.

does the IIc+ make them a better player?
that's really more important than unmeasurable 'intangibles' that separate the different amps and models from each other.

now,

all that said, what's any of that got to do with GTS getting canned?

i still have not read a thing, that would warrant it.

of all the folks who belong to this forum, and have contributed, i can't think of a single one with more positive reinforcement and involvement than GTS.

where is the wealth of information that he left on the board?

where did it all go?

WTF?

wow

was it that bad?

The content was no worse than what had been said to him in those threads that are linked. It was the number of those posts that got him banned, from what I was told.
He should have taken the high road.

Maybe so. I'm just glad that nobody took the time to research my identity and threaten me. How would you handle that situation? My response would be in a PM, for sure. :D All expenses paid, one way plane ticket to Alabama? hmmmm........

I agree with Joey

The other guy was just as much to blame, if not more.

I personally take it very personal if anyone threatens me or my family.

But this is an internet forum not real life , if I was the moderator I would have pm´ed both and said to calm down , banning members that have made great contribution to the site is taking it to far IMO.

both guys should be haunted for weeks if not months by their ridiculous posts

they should be forced to print them out and read them to their families and then explain that this was from an argument over guitar amps

Imagin reading this headline. Man shot because of argument over wich paticular version guitar amplifire sounded best.
